If a new applicant has worked and lived in Texas for the past five years, DPS only has to check Texas paper records, in addition to the computer check. If a new applicant lived outside Texas in the 5 year misdemeanor window, DPS checks the records in those places too. At least they used to, but I do...

If the insurance company says the policy doesn't cover her, I would talk with the local DA (an elected official) and ask him to prosecute her for not having financial responsibility. I would talk to my lawyer about suing the driver and requesting summary judgement because she was driving without ins...

I'm not worried about the fiscal cliff. For one thing, I already cashed out my retirement plans and invested in things that I think will hold value. For another, sometimes you need something to get the mule's attention. :cup:
