Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

I voted for Trump albeit with great misgivings. I am however still very happy with that vote. Hilary still isn't president and we have gotten some very good Federal judges.

But there are times, Trump talks and tweets too much. He is continually stepping on his own good news. Drives me crazy.

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

I wasn't a Trump supporter but did vote for him because he wasn't Hillary and I thought he would nominate a good Supreme Court Justice to replace Scalia.

Well, he still isn't Hilary and Gorsuch is going to be a great Justice, I think. So I got what I voted for.

Plus he has eliminated a ton of regulations, exited the Paris Climate treaty, relied on some very good Generals in military matters and nominated a number of good to excellent Cabinet officers.

So up to now, despite some big blunders mainly in tweets and off the cuff remarks, I am still pretty happy.

On the other hand, if he turns to the Democrats, we won't have anybody in DC anymore except Senator Cruz, a couple other senators and about 15-40 Representatives. We could be headed into dangerous waters.

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

The Democrats are trying to subvert the President's ability to govern.

I have been told by sources I believe that both the State Department and the Justice Department, beyond the Acting AG, did things to subvert the President's immigration executive order.

Even before he was inaugurated, Intelligence officials from the Obama Administration leaked false stories about Trump dealing with the Russians. At the time it was that either Clapper or Brennan leaked. Both of them would have had the same information that put down Flynn. So either or both of them, the former Acting AG Yates and/or others still in the intelligence agencies could have leaked this.

Then there is the Democrat Senators actions to prevent the President's cabinet nominations from going forward.

There were a lot of last minute hiring of people by the Obama administration to nonpolitical jobs throughout the bureaucracy.

There are the demonstrations with blackshirts at their core that have been financed by Soros.

Taken in total, we are seeing an attempt to conduct a slow motion coup against the President.

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

As an attorney, I am disgusted by the 9th Circuit's substituting their policy judgement for the President's. If courts are going to act like politicians then they deserve as much respect as do politicians.

Having said that, the President would be wise to pull back this EO, rewrite it to provide the basis for it and to clearly state the adjustments they have already made, get his State Department on board and the Justice Department on board and then reissue.

I have heard that both State and Justice bureaucrats acted subversively with regard to this EO. Trump should have had his own team in place before he moved forward. There were also elements of this order particularly with regard to green card holders that I thought were extremely unwise. Those appear to be fixed even though the 9th Circuit refused to admit that.

Just heard that the President is going to fight this on the merits before the District Court rather than appealing the 9th Circuit's decision. Makes some sense except that by the time the litigation is done the 90 day temporary period of the order will have run anyway.
