Re: Unlicensed Carry on Private Property

I thought I would post to break the tie between Vol Texan and Bubba84. I believe Vol Texan gave you the best answer, but I thought I would explain it a little more. The current state of Texas law is that you may always carry on property you own or that is under your control. As such, you can carry i...

Re: NCAD is at again

Appraisal districts are not government agencies. They are a agency created to represent governments. They do not have to follow the same guidelines with respect to weapons that a city or county government would. The appraisal districts determine the value of property. They give that information to ...

Re: The Strange City Limits of Bulverde, Texas

Part of the explanation of Bulverde's city limits lies in knowing the history of the city. It was created expressly to stop San Antonio from expanding its limits. A few years back, they started putting some rural subdivisions in that area and the residents did not want to be in San Antonio. They tri...

Re: Liability of business owners who ban licensed handguns

And to get to an actual example that is equivalent to the current 30.06 laws, you can't have someone arrested because you caught a glimpse of their pro-Hillary button that they had attempted to conceal under their jacket. Even if you put up a huge sign saying "No Hillary supporters are allowed...

Re: Top handguns in your opinion?

Best carry gun (excluding 1911s): Springfield XD in 45 Best target gun: S&W model 25 revolver with a six inch barrel in 45 ACP. Really wish I had not gotten rid of it and would buy another in a heart beat. Second best is a tie between the Ruger 22 (mine is a mark II but I don't know if the newer...

Re: Concealed Carry Reciprocity is on the Move: Your Lawmakers Need to Hear from You NOW!

What examples are there of someone being convicted of a state offense in violation of FOPA? Every example i’m aware of has prevailed in Federal court There was one case I was aware of that the US Appellate courts upheld, though I think it violates FOPA. A person flying through NYC got caught there ...

Re: Concealed Carry Reciprocity is on the Move: Your Lawmakers Need to Hear from You NOW!

I sincerely hope Blake (the Flake) Farenthold loses his NRA 'A' rating for skipping this one.... Yes, any nay votes or no vote need to be bumped down at least 2 grades!!! He is not running for re-election, so it doesn't matter. I was thinking of contacting the Republican party to see if they have a...

Re: Net Neutrality?

Where does the US Constitution give the government any power to regulate communication? Probably Article I, Section 8, Clause 3. The commerce clause. The FCC was created by statute: 47 U.S.C. § 151 and 47 U.S.C. § 154 The government's excuse to do anything to the people they desire. Well, technical...

Re: Net Neutrality?

The problem with the debate, as with many issues, is the framing of it. The rule the FCC passed under Obama was promoted as being net neutrality but it really wasn't. The rule that is being repealed really was a decision to treat the Internet like a utility, giving the government the authority to re...

Re: State Trooper Killed Freestone County

The suspect was reported in custody in Waller County at around 9:00, after at least injuries from a K9 bite. Rumors of possibly his being shot also, but I have that as rumor only at this time. Good work by several agencies on taking the suspect into custody.

Re: Now this is the reason why I carry

TAM, I am glad the other women posted first, because I had a suggestion for a possible compromise. I agree that on body carry is the way to go, but quick and sure access in her purse MIGHT be an acceptable second place. So, I was going to suggest a compromise that you might try. Get her a purse desi...

"Accused of..." . Did you do it? Let's not beat around the bush. Completed 3 of a 5 year adjudication.... Why only 3? Where does this sentence stand? I think you'll find a lot of understanding here but you'll need to come clean. From the original post: “I was accused of breaking into a ho...

Forget the ready range, I’d love to have the garage.

Well, if you want to keep the garage, you could buy a mobile range that you park in your driveway. That way you could take it to work for a lunch shoot too.

Re: Why do we need 30.06/7?

Are we not a protected class by virtue of the 2nd Amendment? I cannot resist pointing out that we are, from one point of view, the best protected class. Unfortunately, humor aside, we are not a protected class under the law. It is not the constitution that makes the protected classes, and there is ...
