Sized up in San Antonio parking lot

Last night I was retrieving some bags and cooler from the parking lot at the LaQuinta around 11:30 pm. Well lit parking, glancing up every 20 or 30 seconds or so (not exactly a safe part of town). As I was double-checking to be sure I had everything I noticed a middle-aged man looking at me several ...

Re: Alamodome and DCI?

Went to Alamodome yesterday and don't recall seeing any 30-06 signage anywhere going into the building. No wanding. Only checking purses and bags. I had secured my 1911 in the vehicle (MV 500) in anticipation of not being able to enter. BTW, got me thinking again about how my 2A rights apply everywh...

Re: CSGV Continues Attack on PC Sec. 30.06

They don't realize it, but every day they are given the choice to "take the red pill or the blue pill" and they insist on taking the blue pill. Most people don't want to face certain aspects of reality - that sometimes the only thing keeping evil people in check is the thought of a good gu...

Alamodome and DCI?

I will be traveling to watch DCI (Drum Corps International) this weekend at the Alamodome in SA. I have done a search and I know it is city owned, but DCI is not a professional sporting event, per se, (they are semiprofessional bands, but don't receive any pay for their performances). Can I CHL carr...

Re: Anne Frank: The Whole Story

If you research anything about the Nazi belief system and how much of a cult is was, you'll find that much of the concept of euthanasia began in the late 1800s. Anti-Semitism really grabbed hold in Europe, and even in England, by World War One. Enter a dismal economy post-Armistice Germany and a Wei...

The "ship is sinking" and the POTUS wants to have a regulation on what color the walls along the promenade deck should be?

Re: How to Read the Second Amendment

The original language of the period defines "regulated" as being able to march, knowing the manual of arms, follow orders, readiness, structure of a military command - officers, enlisted, etc. It does not mean regulated in terms of controlled or maintained by a state or federal government ...

Re: Old 22 Rifles

I have my Dad's Model 61 Winchester pump .22 (made around 1934) and my brother got his .22 mag Model 61 w/ scope (great turkey rifle). Well built, lovely wood. Simply high quality at its best.

Re: Would you search for a shooter?

As a teacher, my job is to protect the students in my classroom, or grab those in the hall and get them into a secured classroom ASAP. If something were to happen, and I go "looking" for the shooter, and harm comes to the very students I am supposed to be protecting, I'm sure I would be su...

Re: Another Mall Shooting

I'm slowly seeing another hidden agenda that goes a little beyond the news story. The news heads seem quick to report that the BG has "a lot" of ammunition for the gun they are carrying. If I buy a nail gun, but have no nails, what good is it? By stating the obvious I feel they are slowly ...

I, too, dress around the weapon. When riding bikes with the wife I wear a fanny pack - it is secure and looks "work-out-ish" and fits the activity I'm doing. Semiformal I can tuck in a dress shirt and wear a casual dress coat. All other times I usually just wear an untucked shirt. My wife ...

Re: Which Newtown ad is best?

jmra, That's my point. How many fires each year are there in a school (especially modern buildings made of steel and concrete and stone)? How much more common are shootings in schools in the last 20 years? Don't tell me you're serious about keeping kids safe when you are unwilling to SECURE the buil...

Re: Husband almost got drawn on

I often find I can sleep through a locomotive coming through my living room, but find I wake to tiny creeks or outside noises. Many years ago my brother-in-law was knocking on the back door. We had a fence at the time. He almost got shot. I sarcastically asked why the *&@# he didn't use the fron...
