Re: M&P 15/22s Banned At Appleseed Events After Out Of Battery and “Run Away” Discharges
That's good to know. I wouldn't mind doing this with my Garand, Enfield, or 1903, but would wait until I was able to get an original type stock to replace the sporterized one on the 1903. Looks like the events on the calendar for DFW area are .22 only. ' Come to Midland, October 29 & 30 - it's ...

Re: M&P 15/22s Banned At Appleseed Events After Out Of Battery and “Run Away” Discharges
I've considered trying out an Appleseed event, but now I'm not so sure. First they say any rifle will do, but then talk about 10 or 20 round magazines. What about tube magazines? Other than my 15-22, my only other .22lr rifles have tubes. Another friend of mine thought about doing this together wit...

Re: Hmmmmm, trying to renew both CHL and Instructor Certificate at same time
I was in the same situation. I renewed my license and got the same message when I tried to do the instructor side. Once they processed my license I was able to go back in and do the instructor. Give it a few days and try again...

There is also: PC §46.03. PLACES WEAPONS PROHIBITED...any grounds or building on which an activity sponsored by a school or educational institution is being conducted...
A stadium would certainly fall under grounds, but I don't know that pee wee sports would be a school sponsored activity.

Re: Explaining Penal Code 9.21 Public Duty
No disagreement with the quick and dirty explanation above. I also come at it from a little different direction. "...the conduct is required or authorized by law...", "...specifically required by statute..." In general a private citizen is not required by law to use force. LEOs h...

Re: Error in DPS statistics?
Maybe the license was revoked before they were convicted of unlawful carry....by the time they were convicted of the unlawful carry they were no longer CHL holders. A license cannot be revoked for an offense until there is a conviction. First: they can be arrested, tried, and convicted of an unrela...

Re: Is Banning CHL discrimnatory?
Of course it is discriminatory. But discrimination itself is not illegal...we all discriminate on a regular basis and think nothing of it. I discriminate against thieves, and murderers, and liars, and cheats, and rude people, and store clerks with poor customer service skills, and the jerks that tai...

Re: Meetings of Gov't Entity
Would a Commissioners court meeting be considered a vehement meeting or a court? Vehement? Commissioners court is meeting of a government entity. Dang auto correct. Sorry. Is a county commissioners court meeting considered a court or government meeting? I dunno...I've been to some commissioners cou...

Re: Real Estate Agents & CHL
Like any other business, a real estate brokerage can control what happens in their place of business - they can post a 30.06 or let agents know they don't want firearms in the office. I don't know of any brokerage that has a policy against it, but I haven't been to every real estate office in Texas ...

Re: Newbie question, I'm confused as can be.
So my understanding was that college campuses were not allowed to be carried on even without a 30.06 sign, but in my CHL class yesterday the instructor posed that this was no longer true by giving this scenario, "I can go to Katy high school and carry all around and go jogging on the track, bu...

Appreciate the quick answer. I downloaded the TX CHL Carry Laws (PDF) The topic Came up on another forum.
