Re: Can the USPS get any worse?

Same problem here. I had a package from Chicago area which was sent of January 2. Informed delivery showed it reached Indianapolis of Feb 4 and then just sat there until I filed a complaint. It then suddenly started showing "In transit to next facility" on a daily basis until Jan 9, when t...

Re: HB 1078 - License Fees waived for people certified to perform CPR

I realize this is an old thread, however I'm wondering if anyone has actually been able to enjoy the benefits yet? The reason I ask is that today (May 22, 2023 - 3-1/2 years after effective) my wife renewed her Driver License at the Dacoma St, Houston DMV location and presented her CPR certificate (...

Re: NICS & Gun Sales in August 2022, Third Highest Month

Although I'm glad to see these types of numbers, I wonder if some of it isn't really gun saless, but instead background checks on ammunition purchases which are now required by a few states.

It would be interesting to separate gun sales from ammo sales in the stats.

Re: Quick renewal question

It's not 6 months - it's acually 180 days from the exact expiration date - almost 6 months, but just a few days short.

Given your example of Jan 15, you should be able to renew starting today.

I use the Blackhawk T-Series sometimes. Seems to work very well.

Re: Prayers please

Prayers for a good outcome and a speedy recovery. I went through that in May 2020, and it's scary, but with today's technology, very common and has a very high percentage of success. I spent 13 days in the hospital, but that's because I had a lot done at the same time - heart valve, aortic root repl...

Re: App. process time if I recently held LTC in Washington st?

The FBI requires a new set every time. A license from another state is irrelevant to the Texas process. :smash: Not always. I think it depends on the quality of the prints on file, and since Texas (mostly) uses digital prints, once they have a good set, you should be OK. I just renewed recently and...

The training is good for two years,
Actually, if I recall correctly, the training is only good for one year (changed in the last legislative session). I'm sure I read that on here somewhere and confirmed it myself, but I don't remember where it's stated - perhaps the Administrative Code.

I believe you said you're in Houston. If so, you might want to check out Shiloh Shooting Range on Shiloh Church Road (FM 1960 & SH 249 area). They have competition shooting on Thursday evenings (USPSA on the first and last Thursday, and IDPA on the other Thursdays). They also have classes on Sun...

The last comment I read in that listing (today) said the signs were gone when the poster returned to take pictures.
