A man fatally shot someone who he said was breaking into his northwest Houston business Monday.

The business owner told police that he was sleeping at the business, in the 6100 block of Pinemont near Fairbanks, Sunday night and said he said woke up to the sound of someone breaking in.

He told police he shot the man, who investigators found with several gunshot wounds.

The case will be referred to a Harris County grand jury, police said.
