Re: Semi Auto Shotgun Suggestion

Nice shotguns, but way over the OP's listed budget of $650.

Re: Semi Auto Shotgun Suggestion

I'm going to vote for the A300. Save up some $$ in a few months and then check your area for hydro dipping services. Bob's your uncle, your black A300 will sport whatever pattern you like. Or, get very brave and rattle can it. Nothing wrong with the other two options though. If you want save max $$,...

Re: Rangemaster Tom Givens Instructor Course

Thanks for the review.

My schedule didn't work this year but I hope to make it next year. I've been planning to take one of his one day classes later this year to get a feel for his teaching style. Mostly to see if I'd want to invest the additional dollars for the instructor course.

Cleaning and a couple judicious drops of lubricant might do wonders.

Re: TIP: Gun cleaning indoors

Please let me know what you figure out for plastic fouling as I'm on the hunt myself. Ended up in a small sporting clays charity tournament this morning. The mystery can of cleaning fluid came in Friday or Saturday while I was out. So it was the perfect time to give it a try this afternoon. I'd put...

Re: TIP: Gun cleaning indoors

I've tried a 'raw carbon fiber' boresnake my dad gave me to try. It's yellow and supposedly can be cleaned with hot soapy water. Yeah....not so much. I do use a tornado brush which is pretty good about fouling. I think the trick on the plastic wad buildup is to clean more frequently. But o...

Re: TIP: Gun cleaning indoors

Aside from cleaning my own guns, I clean a lot of customer guns so I'm always looking for tips. M-Pro 7 is excellent. I keep a 32 oz spray bottle of it close by my bench. I've got the copper cleaner too but don't use it much..... I looked at M-Pro 7 and it looks good enough to give it a try. Do you...

Re: Purchased a gun for a friend

In the auction scenario this takes place all the time. Seller A advertises the gun on Gunbroker for sale. A bidder B wins the bid. B pays A, then provides instructions to get it to a FFL of B's choice. A gets paid by B. A transfers the gun to his dealer "Gunbroker FFL'" with instructions on sending...

Re: Purchased a gun for a friend

The whole thing <is less than optimal> to keep it forum friendly. if you made the decision to sell the firearm before the purchase and you've recorded that intent somewhere...well that's not good. But you can sell your firearms anytime after you purchase it, be it 30 seconds, a day, or whenever. The...

Re: Purchased a gun for a friend

The courts didn't think it was irrelevant. caveat emptor You completely misinterpreted the decision. The payment in advance by the uncle was used as evidence that Abramski was not acquiring the gun for his own use. That is lying on the 4473 and the definition of a straw purchase. The fact that he g...

Re: Purchased a gun for a friend

The buyer does the transfer. Period. You can gift a firearm purchased with your own money. You cannot do a straw purchase, that is using somebody else's money to buy a gun, do the 4473 in your name, then hand the gun over to the party who provided the money. In the state of Texas, we have no firear...

Re: Purchased a gun for a friend

First, do not pay for it under your name. Second, Contact the seller and provide the name of the real buyer. Explain what happened. Seller will send the pistol to FFL of the real buyer Let your friend do the paper work and pick the pistol from his FFL. In Short do not do the transaction yourself. Y...
