Re: Why two signs?

let's not give the anti's any ideas about changing the sign requirements.. the Texas legislature, WISELY made the effort to CLEARLY define the sign requirements. It's been done this way for a reason(s).

Re: Checking a Firearm at a California Airport

It may have changed, but a LOT depends on the 'orientation' of the agent. One fella in Chicago got almost hysterical about a Browning Sweet 16 that I was checking to Texas. He even said 'I know they're for killing'.. so I casually replied that he didn't look like a pheasant, so he really had nothing...

Re: Open Carry Observance...

Texas law says they can legally do so, so why is an apartment complex saying they can't? That's the point. The lease forbids the discharging of a weapon on the property. I someone kicks down my door and I am forced to use my gun to defend myself - I wonder if they would evict me for discharging my ...

Re: Campus Carry. What Happened?

I'm quite dissapointed this initiative FAILED... what the heck.. do we need a genuine dissaster like Virginia Tech before Strauss and his gang wake up and smell the coffee? I just finished my Assoc Degree at Collin County, and there were many times that I'd come out of the building late at night and...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

It's dead for this session. Hopefully there will be a better thought-out and coordinated effort in the future. I think this was a little too much too fast, to change this all at once... perhaps the first step is just to decriminalize accidental or temporary display by a CHL? And someone asked how d...

Re: Professors plan to boycott classes where students carry

And I assume they have someone else shop for their groceries, and live on campus. Because if not they're already rubbing elbows with us evil CHL holders. You make that point perfectly, they must NEVER, not EVER, leave the confines of their classroom... for fear of mingling with 500k+ CHL holders at...

Re: It helps to call

it's been, 4+ years now.. I have to renew in May of 2012... last time I was patient, and waited the 60 days before I called.. I was extremely polite, "yes ma'am, no ma'am, I know you're probably swamped..." and the lady was very-very nice.. put me on hold, found my paperwork, told me it wa...

" - who is the cracker going to target??? that's a good question, and I can answer it, as I work in one of 'those' neighborhoods frequently.. they target other druggies for the most part... otherwise I'm just the freindly, non-threatening, computer guy who drives a 15+ year old truck(who has a...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

My Glock 19 doesn't fit in my pocket. And I guarantee I can load my glock faster than you can load your revolver. Why do you think that what works for you will work for everyone else? I don't imagine one size fits all.. just saying that there are ways to solve the summer problem and remain conceale...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

Hey, Let's get back on topic, shall we???? If CHL is good, why then is Open any better? Before you say it's too hot to carry in the summer, I do it ALL the time with a little 38 lightweight in my baggy pocket. Just sometimes, I have my hand ON the weapon if I feel uncomfortable, and nobody knows any...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

I've had my CHL since '96, and carry almost every day. I've had this open/concealed discussion with friends several times, and the overall concensus of our little group is that none of us would open carry. The 'group think' in this situation is that we have benefitted greatly from 'don't ask, don't ...

Re: Road trip question.

Pretty sure Canada is going to be "NO" unless you have a valid hunting trip booked.. and that's probably only rifles/shotguns in that case...

I don't see why you can't use a safe deposit box, just don't make a big deal of what your are storing in there.. I've done it. :nono:

Re: How Long For Renewal Based on this Info?

my renewal comes up in May 2011, so I guess I'll take the class in January (maybe the week b4 Superbowl)...
I hope 4 months would be enough on my 3rd or 4th renewal?

However, I guess they go through the entire process anyway, no shortcuts.
