The police know a bunch they are not telling us.
Hopefully the truth will eventually filter out--or at least more than we know now.
We will see if Acevedo really believes in "transparency."

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
I thought earlier it was mentioned the raid was not video-taped or that law enforcement was not wearing body-cams.
Now we get this from the article above:
He (Acevedo) said that body-worn camera footage has already started being reviewed.
I am so confused! :(

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
The search warrant says "Harding" Street--not "Hardy."
The search warrant describes the house as white with a yellow trim if memory serves--that matches the house they busted into--not the house on Hardy.
We certainly need more information. The search warrant also mentions a 9 mm handgun---did not hear of law enforcement retrieving that.
I am certainly troubled by all of this but I will wait until we get more facts to form a final opinion.

Re: the pit bull...If I lived in the Milby area as a home-owner I would have a pit bull or german shepherd too.
Re: recordings. I believe this raid had to be recorded--if not video then certainly audio. Acevedeo needs to release the audio on this raid.

I agree. Acevedo needs to be more forth-coming with all the facts--hopefully he will. He should release the search warrant and return--he can redact anything related to informants, etc. I also have trouble believing this was not recorded. Have never been a big fan of Acevedo anyway.jason812 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 8:03 pm If it's true non of the officers were wearing body cameras, the entire leadership of the HPD should be canned. If I were in charge, I would want every warrant excusion recorded. Not only for accountability but to review and used for learning. By reviewing what went right and what went wrong, and working to eliminate the wrong, it would be safer for the officers and those being served the warrant.
I know it's still early into the details of this but is it possible this couple was swatted?
Regarding the capacity of a .357 magnum revolver---my Smith and Wesson 686 in .357 magnum is a seven shot.
Hope the officers make a speedy recovery.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
Prayers for the officers and their families.
Some of those raids are military-style raids with helmets, shields, bullet-proof vests, etc. Some of them wear helmet-cams. Wonder if the shootout was recorded?
The officers announced their presence allowing the drug thugs time to get their weapons and start shooting. Maybe a no-knock raid would have been safer for the officers involved.
