Re: Fixed Blade Knives

Gotta second the love for ESEE knives - I have an ESSE 3 Mil that I use as an EDC, its a 3.5 inch fixed blade, just a smaller version of the ESEE 5 really. It comes with a hard case and clip, I just clip it to my belt or one of my knife pockets on the front of my pants. https://www.theknifeconnectio...

I would love to do this. Life has been kinda hectic but hoping that by the time the cooler weather comes around I will have some more free time.

Re: So-called Basic Income - Stockton, Ca.

I've seen some proposals of eliminating welfare as we know it, and turning it into 'Universal basic income'. The idea being this could be more of an upwards mobility program that allows people in the system to move, save, invest, etc. Currently, if you are on welfare you can't move to where the jobs...

Re: Yellowstone tv show

Been wanting to watch Yellowstone, we don't have the channel it comes on though. If anyone sees it available on one of the streaming services - youtube, Amazon Prime, Hulu - let me know. For those who enjoyed Longmire and are looking for something else, check out Justified. Not quite as good as Long...

Re: New Video Game Active Shooter?

1st Amendment gives them the right... But still in poor taste. Someone or small development team trying to drum up some controversy to get some extra business.

Re: Why We Are Losing the Fight for the Second Amendment and What We Can Do About It

If anyone hasn't seen it - I recommend watching Steven Crowder's "I'm Pro-Gun | Change my mind" 2 part youtube series he did a while back. It was eye-opening, and it gave me a smidge of hope. The basic premise is he sat down at a college, opened up a booth that had the sign 'I'm Pro Gun, C...

Re: “No Firearms on Premises” Sign

I think what bothers me is the number of people that come around here and ask this question. How many that ask have their LTC or have been through the class. Or are we getting a bunch of folks that haven’t and are asking this question without knowing anything or much about LTC laws. Lots of bad/wro...

Re: IN: Well, this is kind of embarrassing

So, why did he return to the house where the police mistakenly thought he was holed up? Sounds like suicide by cop State Police shot and killed Michael Reynolds last Tuesday after a nearly full-day standoff. Troopers say he walked out of the house he had barricaded himself in wearing dark clothing,...

Re: Daylight savings time

Heard about this one on the news, found it an interesting enough reason to push to end DST - https://www.reuters.com/article/us-heart-daylightsaving/daylight-saving-time-linked-to-heart-attacks-study-idUSBREA2S0D420140329 Increase by 25% on the Monday following the swap to DST is a pretty significan...

Re: Interesting Non Car Buying Experience

Not sure if I got lucky or the dealership I've bought my last 2 cars from is just that good. Last 2 cars were Honda Civics through the Honda dealership - they weren't exactly quick but they didn't really play games either. Walked in, pointed to the car I wanted more or less and told them I'd like to...

Re: Licensed carry at my apartment complex

My thought would be to get a verbal Ok to carry past the sign to turn in your check or attend group functions. That would meet the legal requirements to carry past as she would be the person of authority to give it IMO. Should something happen and someone decided you have violated the 30.06(which wi...

Re: Attacking pit bull shot in League City

Another factor why you see many in the shelters is because of the owners, pitbulls are not for first time dog owners. That breed is constantly challenging to be the alpha and the owner/s need to understand all actions from the dog, from having the dog eat last after the humans to making sure when t...

Re: Attacking pit bull shot in League City

:iagree: w/ what C-dub said - breed characteristics do tend to follow the bloodline when bred properly. And any of the bloodlines of multi-generation 'pit-bulls' that were bred for dog fighting rings are problematic. The problem is 'pit-bull' isn't a recognized breed, and any dog having even similar...

Re: Appointment/Calendar/Reminder App?

No personal experience using it, but I remember hearing good things about shared events/appointments via Google Calander - seems like I remember a few labs/groups in my company using it to create group/shared calendars. Might take a look at it
