Re: NYPD Reveals New Concealed Carry Rules
NYPD Reveals New Concealed Carry Rules Looks like NYC still wants to make it as difficult as they possibly can: The state will also now require ''four character references and a list of current and former social media accounts from the last three years,'' completion of a gun safety course, and affi...

Re: Are Pistol Iron Sights Destined For Extinction? 7 Experts Answer
My opinion is that iron sights will never go "extinct", any more than they have for long guns. One reason is reliability. I need my optics to function as expected even if the gun has been sitting, untouched, in my pickup truck for the last 6 months. I don't want to worry about tracking a r...

Re: 2022 assault Weapons Ban
I highly doubt that this bill will ever be: A) Passed by the senate; and B) Not immediately struck down by the courts. But I do have a couple of observations: One, this seems like a great time to sell any spare firearms that would fall under this ban, if we see a price spike. Should be a decently lo...

Re: House Democrats’ ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban Prohibits Semiautomatic Pistols Too
Jerry Nadler nuked this one in a recent committee debate by saying that they are “banning weapons in common use”. The three most recent supreme court cases involving the second amendment explicitly state that weapons in common use may not be restricted. It won’t pass the Senate, and even if it were...

Re: Former Japanese PM Abe Shot Dead During Speech
In theory, a spring loaded nail, a piece of the appropriate diameter metal pipe, and a shotgun shell seems like all one would need. That plus some type of handle.

Re: UPS Refusing Shipments from Brownell's and Ghost Guns
As usual, I find myself "out dated". I thought selling any firearm to someone from another state required an FFL do the transfer. Maybe I am not up to speed on what exactly is a "ghost gun"? I had no idea I could purchase a complete "gun" with no serial number anywhere...

https://apple.news/A2AeRx35ZTC-dnf831GScJg Highland Park, rich area North of Chicago, considered safe. Rooftop shooter. 18 wounded. Left rifle on roof, so he could easily escape undetected. White 18 to 22 yo male. Highland Park has the strictest gun laws in the State. Very liberal. Horrible. RIP Th...

Re: NY Gov. Hochul previews gun bill
They also want 4 personal character references. The list goes on. 4 character references but getting rid of "may issue"? How does that work exactly? Do you just need 4 people to attest to the fact that you are not a felon and can legally possess a firearm (the same thing that a background...

Cripes. They can make it almost impossible to get a CC permit. That 15 hours of "in person instruction" can have all kinds of stipulations, e.g. huge fees, offered twice a year in 1 or 2 locations, requiring impossible test scores, etc. etc. as if anybody can take 2 full days off to atten...

Re: NY Gov. Hochul previews gun bill
So they basically want to restrict carry as much as possible now that the "unwashed masses" will be able to legally carry guns. The parallels to gun control laws that originated as soon as slaves were freed are obvious here. Democrats really never do change their stripes. From a practical ...

Re: How Should Courts Evaluate Gun Regulations After Bruen?
Great read. One question that I haven't seen addressed is how this impacts my ability to get a non-resident CCW license in states that do not have reciprocity with my state of residence (Texas). Since this decision affirms my rights as a US Citizen, I can't think of any good reason why that right w...

Re: 23% of American's carry a concealed gun for self-defense
That sounds high to me. I wonder if they are counting people who carry a gun in their car but not on their body? It sounds high to me also. But my thought was that a lot of people who do not carry at all answered yes. If so, or if it is the real number, it indicates that the polls on gun control ar...
