Re: Legal Definition of Shouldering

Thanks for all the replies yal! I didn't know it was ok to shoulder the buffer tube as I thought that might be considered "redesigning" or "manufacturing" according to the ATF :banghead: Just to be clear I don't have a Sig brace or any other stabilizer at the moment, but if you d...

Legal Definition of Shouldering

Does any one know if the BATF has a definition of what they consider shouldering a weapon? I've just finished about a two hour search on the topic and the only articles that I can find are about the SIG arm brace. I'm curios because I just bought an AR pistol and while I know that shouldering it (wh...

Thunder Guns Experience

I'm currently looking at building an AR pistol, I have a lower already, but came across a complete kit minus the lower from a company called Thunder Guns out of Florida. The price is tempting on it but I can't find much info on there stuff online. Has anyone ever purchased anything from them? Based ...

Re: Worst LTC Student?

Any instructor that passes a student that only achieved 15 rounds on target falsified a government document and they have committed a felony. I would hope that someone in the class would report it to DPS and help maintain the integrity of Texas' excellent LTC program. Every now and then we see a th...

Re: Worst LTC Student?
I disagree .. We don't need more red tape .
I agree 100% with that, I think the process of getting a RIGHT back takes too long as it is and the laws of when/where you can carry are foolish. But take the Texas Hunter's Education class for example, back when I took it they covered mo...

Re: Worst LTC Student?

I'm all for everyone getting their LTC but shouldn't at some point an instructor have some liability that they may be licensing a person that could do more harm than good? If a student can only put 10-15 shots on target in a controlled environment what do you think they will do in a stressful situat...

Worst LTC Student?

I took my LTC class back in July and just thought to post this and see what other peoples experience have been. There were six of us in the class and during the classroom portion everyone seemed to have a decent understanding of firearms just by the interactions in class. Then comes the range portio...

Re: Application Question- Residential History

I just wanted to come back and follow up with this in case anyone ever searches for the answer. I've waited until I got to the "Print Pending" stage before posting to make sure everything on my background check went through ok. For the time I was deployed in the residential history sectio...

Application Question- Residential History

Hey Yal, This is my first post as am still in the process of getting my LTC. I am filling out the application and I am on the Residential History portion and I am kind of stuck. I was deployed for a year with the Army and I'm not sure how DPS wants this entered into the application? I tried calling ...
