pbwalker,
Ever see the movie clip where someone (could've been Curly of the Three Stooges) hears a certain word that stops him dead in his tracks every time he hears it, then does a 180 and starts muttering "slowly, I turned, step by step" and then goes bonkers?
Well, that's me when I see the word 'free' in association with something/anything being sold.
Yes, it's one of my many pet peeves.
Nothing aimed at you.

Re: Buy a can, get one free!
Yes, the truth is often too much for the dreamers....
Yes, on occasion something called free (while not actually free) is still a pretty good deal, but actually free, nah...
I'm literal. Tell me A is A and I'm ok with that. Tell me A is A but it's really B, I object. Sorry, truth is such a killjoy...
Sometimes, being fictional is something snowflakes, believers in magic, fairy dust, and others don't fare well with reality...it's too brutal, where's my safe space...?
Free doesn't mean: Not free...it means no cost. It doesn't mean a pretty good deal...it means no cost. So stop with the advertising falsity. Words: Mean things.
Geez, what a party pooper. I actually want the truth.
Truth isn't something appreciated...with the party crowd...
Party crowd: Grow up - it isn't too late.

Re: Buy a can, get one free!
I want the free one only...it's free right?
Yeah, buy 3 bars of soap for $1.00 and the 4th is free.
No, it isn't. Where's your sense of logic?
It cost .25 cents, but some are fooled into thinking it's free....same with anything stated as free...free means no cost, ever...
