Re: IL: New "sanctuary county" for gun owners.

You have to remember there are really two parts of Illinois; Cook County and then all the rest of the state. The politicians of Cook County bring their ilk to Springfield and try to make state laws like they do in Chicago. Glad to see the outstate starting to stand up against the anti-gun agenda fro...

Re: Benbrook PD Called for Gun Tshirt in Park

Johnston wearing that shirt is analogous to the young woman with the perky little bottom wearing the short skirt discussed in a thread gone by. Should I call the police if I see a woman wearing a short skirt in public? :headscratch Depends on if she is in style or not. If not, call the Fashion Poli...

Re: A Question of Eligibility over Out of State Charge.

You’d be ineligible for 5 years. I'm confused, because Bigtek said the DPS counts it as a Class A so wouldn't I be ineligible for 10 years? No, misdemeanors are only 5 year disqualifiers. GC §411.172. ELIGIBILITY. (a) A person is eligible for a license to carry a handgun if the person: ........ (8)...

Re: MI: 14 year old comes to door for directions, shot at by homeowner

From reading the article, it sounds like he was not witness to the juvenile at the front door, but was going on accounts of what his wife told him when she came screaming and crying into the bedroom where he was. He got out of bed, grabbed the shotgun and went hunting for a burglar due to his wife's...

Re: Application question

I filed my application yesterday, took the LTC class today, and am going to get fingerprinted Wednesday. I listed the 2 misdemeanors that I knew of on my application. I decided tonight I would run a background check and look up my criminal stuff. There is a 3rd charge that I cannot for the life of ...

Re: New Year's eve arrest at Houston Hyatt

Guy is lucky he had a reasonable Grand Jury. I wonder if the officer exaggerated the assault allegation in an attempt to hit this guy with a felony and strip him of his gun rights. I doubt it. He probably did kick at the officer, but the video didn't catch enough of it to prove it was a kick, which...

The phrase 'cotton-picking' refers to how hard and tedious it was picking cotton. A 'cotton picking (pickin') minute' would seem way longer than a regular minute.

Re: TX: Houston construction superintendent robbed murdered at construction site by 2 men

Construction sites are prime targets for theft of copper/metal, tools or equipment. Also, many construction workers that travel have perdeum money that has been given to them for expenses. My wife works for one and most of their site supervisors carry where they can, as well as the owner carries. Sh...
