Re: The real Lord of the Flies: what happened when six boys were shipwrecked for 15 months

Great story. I think it’s interesting that, conversely to Lord of the Flies, these boys were bored kids acting out (they stole the boat) and the situation they found themselves in actually brought out amazing character, compassion and resourcefulness. Pretty inspiring.

Re: Ethanol free

Is it true that ethanol free gas is “way” better for long term storage? I'm not a chemist chemist nor a very mechanical person. I believe that long term storage of gasoline is not good for any engine regardless of ethanol or not, but is worse with ethanol because of its attraction of water. IIRC, e...

Sorry, disregard. I see that this was addressed earlier in this thread... I goofed and somehow only saw the first page.

Re: Smith&Wesson Political Mud Slinging

They probably see going after the manufacturers as the back door to gun control... in their own article they acknowledge that people keep buying guns. However, following a public push for gun control after the Parkland attack, gun sales increased in March, according to firearm background-check data ...

Re: Cannot Be Recovered By Any Other Means

Not a clarifying point regarding the law but seems relevant... My LTC instructor made the point that even with the law on your side you could easily be looking at $10-15K (or more) in legal fees if you shoot someone (maybe not, but not an unlikely possibility). And so if you assume that cost, it’s h...

Babylon Bee article on Vegas shooting

Babylon Bee is usually a tongue-in-cheek satire “news” site. Most of their articles seem to poke fun at modern church trends... But this one was (sadly) so accurate I thought it was worth sharing. http://babylonbee.com/news/tragedy-forces-every-american-ask-can-bend-facts-support-preferred-narrative...

Love this.

My wife just started taking night classes while I watch the kids. She is licensed and carries and I don't have to worry about her a bit.... or at least... as much.

Attempted to send PM but I'm newer and may have failed (it appears to be sitting in my Outbox). All that to say I'm very interested in one, thanks. It will set in the outbox until the recipient reads the PM. SigScibaGuy may be out of town, but he is one of the good guys. He will get back with you. ...

(That was Sunday, then Monday was holiday.) 3/01/17- website showed nothing until this day, all green but background check and print pending. 3/02/17- background check complete...

Maybe they'll allow you to pass a proficiency test and get licensed to bring in your own glass... as long as no one sees it and gets uncomfortable.

Re: Interesting events at Boerne Walmart

From a nosy/controlling/surveillance standpoint it seems like it'd be strange to limit the number per transaction/day... as that would remove any "red flags" that might have been valuable. To me the policy almost sounds like a tip you'd read on a conspiracy blog, "And when you get you...
