Re: The Good Guys Retail Thread
VOL TEXAN, And you sir are one of the reasons I joined the forum. As I have stated previously in other posts, long time gun owner and shooter, but new to LTC. These are questions that I have had but not had enough experience to think all the way through. Your post makes perfect sense to me and I app...

Re: The Good Guys Retail Thread
Given that this site is viewed by / trolled by a lot of antis, I am reluctant to post business names that are proactively 2A friendly. The anti-2A community has mastered the implementation of Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, and I'm not prone to providing them with a 'target list' that they can use. V...

The Good Guys Retail Thread
Don't know if there is one here, but I'd like to start a thread where we can post information on the "Good Guys" retail locations. Attached are photos of a local vacuum cleaner service near my house.. I know they will get my business when I need that service. Lone Star Vacuum, Kroger cente...

Re: Need help teaching wife to shoot
If I may... She is scared... Go get a nice little .22lr pistol and let her start out with that.. Maybe graduate to a nice .38 spl later on. Have her dry fire a couple of times and you will be able to tell if she is anticipating the shot. I start out any new shooter on a 22 if I can. I have taken the...

Re: Another vehicle question
Ok... So go ahead and just delete this whole post... (kidding of course) Got my Alien Gear Holster in today... Yea... Not going to be pulling that thing off in the car or truck... After holstering, unholstering my firearm several times over I feel more comfortable with it not going BANG... Obviously...

Re: Chatting with a LEO and another
Had a similar situation happen about 3 weeks ago. However this was between a LTC holder and a person who has only lived in Texas for about 2 years and was only just getting into shooting. I know both of these gentlemen so getting into the conversation was easy enough. However as I started listening ...

Re: Another vehicle question
Thanks everyone for your replies. As a long time shooter I am very comfortable around firearms, but as a soon to be newly minted LTC holder I am still very cautious about holstering (especially IWB). Thus my percolation (I like to use fancy words every now and again) towards hammer fired DA equipmen...

Another vehicle question
Again, another newbie who is probably overthinking things way more than they should. My question involves storing your firearm in your vehicle. Let me first throw out my current info if that helps. Equipment: Alien gear holster, hammer fired DA (of course) firearm. However may in the future end up w...

Re: Px4 Storm
I JUST got back from Academy. I have been interested in the PX4 as well. I looked at the compact model. I know each of us have our own preferences, and to me while is is a solid built fine looking piece of machinery, it's just too bulky and heavy for a CC... Just my own opinion of course... If your ...

Re: Glad I was Carrying
:iagree: Glad to hear it turned out to be a non-event. I know Hindsight is 20/20 but I would have called, if nothing else so they could send an officer by to make sure they weren't up to no-good, and to be the first to report - heard/read lots of horror stories about incidents like yours becoming an...

Re: Called out in church on my CC
While were on the subject of guns and churches.. Is there any other congregation out there in the North Texas area that have any sort of shooting group. We are a Lutheran Church in Frisco and we have a small group that competes with one another and also working on a competition shoot with another Lu...

Re: Us Poor Lefties
Thanks everyone for the replies so far. I did a little testing at the outdoor range over the weekend. I setup a chair perpendicular to the target area. I only had an open carry holster with me but figured it was at least a good start for training... As I expected, no way, no how was cross draw going...

Us Poor Lefties
Good Evening everyone. My name is Mike and I'm a Lefty... (insert snarky AA comments here) Just joined and of course have spent countless hours perusing the site. I'm waiting on the yellow screen of "background check" on DPS so hopefully soon.. Anyway. Being a lefty poses certain issues wh...

Re: Called out in church on my CC
I guess I'm lucky.. My Pastor and I took our LTC class together last week. This Sunday after Church, our Pastor, our head Elder, myself and a few other members of our congregation had a match shoot at our local outdoor range. We have a scheduled competition with one of the local churches in our area...
