Re: "Nobody has ever stopped a mass-shooter..."

Isn't this a catch-22? The only way to get out of the military is if you're crazy; only a crazy person would want to remain in the military; therefore, if you are trying to get out of the military, you must be sane, and are therefore not eligible to get out. Or, in this case (Really a pair of catch-...

Thanks! And I see you're not *too* far away from me (at least in Texas terms!) so if need be, we could meet in the middle around San Marcos and I could pay ya for some custom work, maybe!

Re: Denial Question

Why do people call DPS or their state representative before the 60 day window is over? Is it a millennial thing? Why would I wait 60 days for a renewal? The statute only gives 45 days. Editing because I just double-checked the email. Here's what it says: "By statute, DPS has up to 60 days to i...

Re: Female gun ownership and the rise of fashionable "carrywear"

Good luck, I know women, have more issues dealing with carrying than men, but our wardrobe doesn't change much. We are the simpler of the species. Take that any way you like. :biggrinjester: And/or you're the gender that demands consistency and practicality from their clothing manufacturers! #women...

Re: Female gun ownership and the rise of fashionable "carrywear"

Wait, concealed carry leggings?? How is that even possible, when it's so hard to even find decent leggings with pockets? Personally, I'm looking to change bag styles entirely once I get my license, and I'm thinking about a cross-body bag with a motor-cycle style leg strap. There are several such bag...

Re: Does "...at any time..." really mean ANY time?

I know, Keith. I was just setting the stage for why I was seeing a child therapist in the first place; prior to said therapist being bothered by my wanting to be neat with the finger-paints and draw people with big, cartoonish heads.

Re: Does "...at any time..." really mean ANY time?

I don't believe the DPS has an inherent 'right' to review any medical records they want to (without a court order). However, as part of the LTC application process, you will sign a waiver granting the DPS permission to conduct the background check, which includes a review of the medical history. (I...

Re: Does "...at any time..." really mean ANY time?

Ironically, the only thing left now is finger... printing! :) Wish I could get them to take a new pic for the license itself instead of using my DL; hate that picture! Oh well, I'll try to be neat and tidy with the fingerprinting, without appearing too up-tight and "concerning" about it! :...

Re: Does "...at any time..." really mean ANY time?

Presumably they had some kind of medical/psychological training. I was 8, and I doubt my parents remember. Evidently she didn't do anything in terms of evaluation beyond tell my mother she was "concerned" that I would only dip my fingertips in the finger paints instead of splashing...

Re: Does "...at any time..." really mean ANY time?

So, completely unfettered access to all medical records as long as they can think of a reason why they should have it. Spooky. Fortunately, it turned out that the kiddie therapist I saw in 2nd grade for ADHD didn't make any "official" diagnosis out of her "Concern," at the fact t...

Does "...at any time..." really mean ANY time?

Regarding § 411.172 (e)(5), the code reads, "diagnosis at any time by a licensed physician that the person suffers or has suffered from a psychiatric disorder or condition consisting of or relating to:" and then goes on to list a few select conditions. Would "at any time" include...
