Here is a simple way to settle the issue. A few years ago Dallas decided "there are enough guns on the streets", and decided to rid itself of Gun Shows. The City Manager, The City Attorney, the law firm they hired, and Chief Of Police concluded all they could do was not rent out city prope...

I missed this, so here goes. There's no reason to take offense, but that's your choice. Show me a Texas case that holds TPC §46.02 is not applicable to gun shows. You won't find it, so show me where gun shows appear in TPC §46.15. You won't find that either. None that I know of. It is a settled is...

Bravado does not equal legal. Please cite any case law that shows that carry at gun shows is legal. Show me something that says it is illegal. They are not listed as a prohibited place in 46.03, or 46.035. Seriously, if you could not carry a handgun at gun show, it would not be a very successful pl...

If my understanding is correct of course I will comply, but what's the reasoning? Isn't my photo on the CHL adequate? The narrow minded view that the only time you will have an LEO encounter is while driving a motor vehicle. You see this narrow minded view in the new 46.02 exemption, "(2) insi...

Unions and Trade Groups at work, protecting their own. Sad day when Texans can't band together to provide for their own security... Imagine if Katrina happened in Texas and armed, neighborhood watch groups were formed to protect neighborhoods....

I would never put myself in the position of being a test case for this situation. Nor would I advise anyone else to either I carry handguns (concealed and unconcealed), on or about my person, past 30.06 all the time at Gun Shows. I plan to do it again at Market Hall next weekend, and the LEOs there...

You need 50 acres for full legal protection with pistol, rifle, shotgun. From the 2005 Session: Shooting on agricultural land, and limits on city power to regulate shooting SB 734 -- Amends Agriculture Code 251.002, 251.005 and Local Government Code 43.002, and adds Local Government Code 229.002. Dealers do things that are not required to "play it safe." One made me fill out a 4473 for the revolver that I had him ship to the manufacturer for repair. I can't say I blame them for being cautious. - Jim If they have reason to believe their is something wrong with the credentials offer...

Re: Shipping Firearms to Myself

According to ATF, I can ship firearms to myself, even across State lines. However, it seems UPS, FedEx, etc. have more restrictive rules. Can anyone suggest a shipping company that will allow me to ship firearms to myself as allowed by law? UPS allows you to ship to yourself: Special Procedures for...

30.06 is only enforceable if you are carrying under CHL law. When I go to a gun show, I am not carrying under CHL Law, so it is not enforceable on me. What law are you "carrying under", then? *chirp*...*chirp*...*chirp*.... Go back and read my posts from the beginning - Case Law. ETA: Kee...

One more thing. For those that do not agree with me that you are not carrying under CHL law at a gun show, and thus 30.06 is enforceable, here is a simply way to neutralize it anyway: Here is 30.06 law: § 30.06. TRESPASS BY HOLDER OF LICENSE TO CARRY CONCEALED HANDGUN. (a) A license holder commits ...

I am not trying to be a jerk, but to claim I have been engaging in criminal activity for several decades, well I do take offense to that. So, it is illegal for a non-CHL to carry a handgun in a gun show. People are not charged with UCW, but a lack of enforcement does not change the law. The Texas Co...

§ 411.171. DEFINITIONS. In this subchapter:

3) "Concealed handgun" means a handgun, the presence
of which is not openly discernible to the ordinary observation of a
reasonable person.

That meets the definition of the law IMO.

So the "no handguns" sign must also have a 5 inch red "51" through it also? That is what it says. It also does not say it has to be a 30.06 sign, just a "no handguns", which does not apply to LEOs, CHLs etc. Re-read section b. It states that it must adhere to section C...
