Re: DPS Processing Times

Preregistered for my renewal in June, but didn't take requalification class till 3rd week in September. Sent my paperwork in same day. Didn't get my new plastic till a week before Christmas. Was unlicensed for over two months. Will not wait to requalify next time.

Re: Applying online vs. mail-in?

And you get your pin # when you get your printed application as opposed to waiting after you mail your application later. Which means you get to check your unmoving status quicker.

Re: Are you able to carry on your job site and do you?

Am not allowed to carry at my workplace (airport) or even have in parking lot, but the other day had an all-day offsite meeting and I was packin'. Of course, without the knowledge of anyone. My feeling, I was in unfamilar environment in unfamilar part of town and felt safer doing so.

Re: Online Applications.....

It took mine 52 days to move from "Packet Mailed to Applicant". Don't know when their 60-90 window begins in their opinion. I called and emailed a few times. The responses were comicable. The best one was when I sent in addtional info requested and inquired 14 days later why my status didn...

Re: Online Applications.....

In my opinion, online application process only has 2 advantages: it makes it easier if your handwriting is poor and you get your pin# faster. But the later advantage is moot since DPS doesn't update your status promptly. The disadvantages is the state has your money longer till you actually get your...
