We have a choice of moving the 2009 TexasCHLforum Day at PSC to Saturday, August 22nd or Saturday, October 24th. Each day has its advantages and disadvantages. August will be much hotter than October. There is a better chance of a rain in October, but perhaps not a huge difference.
We decided to let you folks decide when to hold this year's event, so please answer the poll if you plan on attending. Whatever date is chosen, we will still move this annual event to April beginning in 2010.
We have a lot of new members on TexasCHLforum that probably have no idea what this event is, so I'll give a short overview. The TexasCHLforum Day at PSC is an all-day event at the PSC Shooting Club in Friendswood, TX. It consists of seminars (1 hr.), shooting clinics (1 3/4 hrs.) and mini-clinics (45 min.) on various gun, self-defense and shooting topics. The topics planned for last year were:

Lunch has been provided by the Bun-Stuffers, a rodeo cooking team.
Since last year's event had to be cancelled because of Ike, I suspect we will run the same lineup of events this year, but the prior schedule will be changed. While the seminars and clinics are run only once, each mini-clinic was scheduled three different times during the day. Our goal is to make it possible for people to attend most of the events they find most useful for their skill level. Looking at last year's registration, we had some events that filled up all three time slots (mini-clinics) and others that had no one scheduled for a particular time slot. Even if we keep all of these events in this year's schedule, we will adjust the number of times some mini-clinics are offered to better use our ranges.
The Bay C Project will be finished and operational long before either the August or October dates, so that will add a lot to the moving shooters and/or moving targets clinics. If possible, we will also make this bay available for people to try their hand at the moving targets, outside of a formal clinic. The Bay C Project will consist of dual running targets (60 feet), 10 turning targets and 6 lateral moving targets (2 feet). Each of these targets will be computer controlled and can be operated in unison, or individually. This target system will also be set up for various city facades giving us tremendous scenario and training design capability.
Please vote if you are planning on attend this year's event.
Chas.
