2 Positions: Inside Sales & Warehouse Mgr - Midland/Odessa

My company is looking for inside sales (O&G) and also a warehouse mgr in Midland/Odessa. Experience in well automation is helpful. Putting this up here so maybe a friend can help a friend, I know it's not so easy to find jobs. PM me if you know anyone looking. The Inside Sales Representative is ...

Re: ND-Inside my house

When someone hands me a firearm, even if I've witnessed them clearing it, I still check it myself. Handguns are mechanical devices, they may fail. How do you know the extractor isn't broken and failed to eject when your guest racked the slide? You must check for yourself. Period. No exceptions. If s...

Re: Dress slacks and sport coat

If the jacket comes off, get an IWB tuckable. I wear a sport coat as often as possible, I find it fashionably elegant, even with jeans. This allows for IWB or OWB. On a recent trip to Thailand, I had some dress shirts custom made with straight (not contoured) tails so I can wear the shirts untucked....

My All Time Fave Pistol

Beretta Model 70S in .22 ...sweetest shooting handgun ever. Beautiful for introducing new shooters to our sport. I also really like the history of this firearm. http://www.tactical-life.com/online/tactical-weapons/israeli-mossad-22-lrs/ http://www.tactical-life.com/online/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/...

Re: Any favorite quotes?

From SF writer Robert Heinlein:

An armed society is a polite society.

Always keep your clothes and weapons where you can find them in the dark.

May have gotten this from Heinlein but it's become my personal motto:
"It's socially unacceptable to be ahead of your time."

Re: Sugar Land Pistol Clubs?

I like Bayou Rifles a lot more than the indoor ranges, even when it's hot weather. Folks are very friendly and generally very safety conscious. Membership is good bang for the buck. (Pun intended.) It's strictly a bullseye target shooting range for pistol / rifle (with a trap thrower if you wanna bu...

Re: B.O.W.I.E. Club - EDCing of an Illegal Knife.

That's too good looking a knife to risk having it confiscated. If you want to be the test case, you should carry one of those cheap ones you saw at ChinaMart. But what's the point in going Croc Dundee on someone if you're not trained? May as well hand it over to them to use on you. Kentucky allows C...

Re: Bullet over all length question

OAL for 9mm shouldn't really change. The only way to make a bullet heavier is to make it longer as diameter remains the same. So you'll be seating deeper and of course your load will change. We change OAL in .223 with the 80gr bullet, but that's a longer than magazine length round anyway and is fire...

Re: Guns Laws on Private Property

While Harris County prohibits discharge of firearms within the county, there is a law that allows you to shoot on your own land if it's over a certain size. We hunt on our land, which is south of Tomball. Someone called the sheriff to report gunshots and once the deputy realized we were within our r...

Oh goodie! Does this mean I can carry my switchblade and swordcane now? What about into places where firearms are prohibited?

BTW, do you visit that buffet often? Is it any good?

A friend who works with the newly blind says the #1 cause is failed suicide attempts.

As previously stated in this thread, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Re: Can You Shoot to Protect Property in TEXAS

But there are no special laws allowing you to shoot a rustler, if that was what you really wanted to know. I'm not going to shoot someone because they got my goat, even if I have a hundred acres and a shovel. Most of us have had someone 'get our goat' and we have the discipline to deal with it in o...
