Re: USAA and 30.06

All I know is that I compared apples to apples, no reduction in coverage and USAA came out on top. Sure I could have gotten a cheaper quote from TFB, but it would have come in the form of higher deductibles and less coverage! This was "Apples to Apples" identical coverage amounts and dedu...

Re: Restrictions on brass pick-up

Gun ranges, especially indoor ranges, are very expensive to build, run, and maintain. They cannot survive on range fees alone. That is why they sell guns, ammo, targets, memberships, and scrap brass. And when they stop allowing me to pick up MY brass, the make less profit because I refuse to spend ...

Re: USAA and 30.06

My letter to USAA... To whom it may concern: Recently I received a quote for auto insurance and was very impressed with what USAA could offer me for my money and I then considered insuring my home and myself with USAA. Unfortunately I received the quote about the same time I moved to Texas and lear...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

most people will just enjoy knowing they can if and when the situation suits carrying open. Or in my case, I'd love to not worry about carrying OWB when wearing a jacket and taking the jacket off, like sitting down in a restaurant, where it's not going to be an attention getter. Just convenience an...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

I'm afraid if open carry passes we will see a lot more 30.06 postings. The state needs to hurry up and pass the parking lot bill though. Something to think about.....With just the thought of parking lot and campus carry passing-I've seen valid 30.06 signs go up at several of my daily visited locati...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

I understand that, but the entire point was that these locations prior to all of this "parking lot bill" media attention had absolutely no signage whatsoever, and didn't care. Now that they are more "aware", they're posting 30.06 signs. Since this last legislative session has sta...

Re: Sons of Gun

In the last episode, a couple came in to buy a home defense weapon. Since neither exhibited any familiarity, they refused to sell them a gun and showed them the door. But it is a lot of fun to watch. That incident struck me as counterproductive to our cause and rude. I would like to have seen the o...

Re: Mosin Nagant

You can also use gasket material if you have any around. I used some graphite based gasket material to bed my 10/22's receiver to the new stock when I put it together with the target barrel.

Re: Mosin Nagant safety

The safety is indeed a bear to operate. Pull the knob back the bolt and turn to the left, physically locking it in a notch so the knob/firing pin will not fall when the trigger is pulled. One may need a cable and winch to accomplish this . And then one needs to perform the task again, rotating to t...

Re: New (to me) Yugo SKS

Love my Yugo SKS..... It's an excellent firearm that's build solidly and is super simple to clean. Accuracy is very good for a firearm designed in it's timeframe, and there is a wide variety of ammo available for the 7.62x39 caliber, and is reasonably priced as well. 75 yds-open sights,12" targ...

Re: Mosin Nagant

I've owned a 1947 dated Ishvesk M44 for a while now. I've had great results with the "Bear" line of steel cased ammo manufactured by Barnaul in Russia. I've shot the 174 gr FMJ, 203gr SP, and the 185gr FMJ's,and all have fired accurately. I like the 203 gr Brown Bear personally-they seem t...
