Glock in a hot Texas summer sun blasted car?

Has anyone had a problem leaving a Glock (or other polymer handgun) all day in a hot Texas car? Does the gun melt?

Re: Austin Saxet gun show cancelled?

I like Mil-surp stuff. A gunshow is the best place to find Mil-surp firearms and other junk that goes with them. Plus I just like shooting the breeze with the vendors, I learn a lot. Can't get that at the big box stores. Today, one vendor was agressive about trying to sell me 200 rounds of UMC .223 ...

Re: Austin Saxet gun show cancelled?

Today's show was disappointing. To be fair, most of the usual vendors that attend got the word the Saxet show was cancelled and booked a table in Waco's show. They may not have known about Texas Gun Show's booking the venue as a replacement. Today, only about 1/3 of the vendors were there compared t...

Re: Austin Saxet gun show cancelled?

After more googling I found that the other gun show will go on instead at the same place and day. http://texasgunshows.net/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Ammunition at Saxet Gun show, Austin

I try my best to attend the monthly Saxet gun show in Austin. It is only $5 to get in. There is always some sling, tool, magazine, book, hard to find part, surplus junk, or gizmo that I need and can find easily. There are quite a few regular vendors that bring a museum with them; where else can you ...

Ammunition at Saxet Gun show, Austin

I attended the Saxet Gun Show in Austin on Sunday this weekend. I noticed a lot of pistol ammunition was available. In past months at the same show, it was all gone early by Saturday. I did notice the prices were much higher than Academy or Wal-Mart, if you can find it there. I saw some .380 for $48...

Re: Sportsman Warehouse Round Rock

Yesterday, the 5% off tags appeared on all of the rifles and shotguns. They had a 5% off sign over the handguns. Lots of shotgun ammo in stock, no buckshot. Targets and firearm cleaning supplies cleaned out. Reloading supplies and most ammo has been gone for months. There is only some expensive rifl...

Re: Sportsman Warehouse Round Rock

The clearance sale started today at the Round Rock Sportsmans Warehouse. 10% off everything except firearms and ammo. 5% off targets, etc. 30% off mens winter clothing. Not much of a clearance so far, but the store was very busy.

Re: Sportsman Warehouse Round Rock

Yesterday in the Round Rock store they told me: 1) Store will be open about another two months. Clearance sales to start "soon". 2) Firearms will not be on clearance. There is a seperate liquidator that will take of of selling them off. I, for one, will miss the beautiful lady cashiers the...

Re: Just how realistic is the said gun ban?

There also was a proposal for a 500% tax on all ammunition. The tax dollars would go "for the children" or somesuch. That seems likely to to pass to me, after all, why would anyone need more than 5 rounds per year for their hunting purposes?

Re: Cheap 7.62 at Academy

The guy behind the counter told me it was not corrosive. I noticed the box did not say anything about being corrosive or not corrosive.

What special things do you have to do to clean an SKS after shooting corrosive ammo? Do you have to clean the gas system?

Re: Wife Renews

I don't get it? Low and left (I assume for a right handed shooter) means Glock? I have never heard this, is this a well known phenomenon?

I ask because I have a Glock 17 and I shoot low and left. I just thought it was because I wasn't any good.

Re: Firefighters, house fires, and ammunition

How much is a "stockpile"? According to the liberal media, 1000 rounds is a stockpile. That is 3 shooting or match events for others.
