Stokesdale is very close. It is pretty good as far as gun rights, but it's no Texas for sure. Carrying loaded rifles or shotguns is a big no-no, so no trunk guns here. The CHL is more restrictive on places that are disallowed, but not too bad. But it'll do. Work is going well, they just announced th...

Hello everyone. We bought a house that we really like and we are getting settled in. The only thing is I can't find the keys to my little gunvault, and I have two pistols in there. The batteries have gone low and they can't open the mechanism, so once again learn from my unpreparedness and keep up w...

Howdy from North Carolina

Hi everybody. I made it safely all 3 trips. Got my family up here which made life a lot better, and we managed to avoid staying overnight in Memphis, which i consider a huge accomplishment!! After I flew back unarmed to get my family, I realized all of my handguns were either at my dad's house packe...

1 week left in Texas, preparing to pack to NC

Well, I have 1 week left in Texas. We are heading up through AR and TN, then into NC. I emailed the NC AG office to ask if I was still a resident of Texas so my CHL would still be valid, at least until I change driver licenses or got to our new residence, but they haven't responded yet. I suppose I'...

Maybe this should be a lesson for some of us that we should not call people crazy and stupid based on what the newspaper article reports in a situation like this. Think if you were ever involved in a self defense shooting, would you want everyone on here (and every other internet forum) convicting y...

Well another Aggie in NC can't hurt, right? Regarding the move, they are paying a moving company to haul my stuff. Do you have any ideas how to protect the guns in my safe from flopping around? Handguns I will probably take with me, but my long guns will probably stay in the safe inside the moving t...

Well, I'm off to NC in about 4 weeks. I decided that this opportunity was the better of the two options. They are handling the relocation completely, so that is a load off my shoulders.

Anyone looking for a house on ~2 acres close to McKinney?

That's the magic question, and frankly one I haven't been able to answer over the past couple of weeks. I'm not old by any means, but getting a little too old to go gallivanting off to school for too long. I just have to determine what is the best option. I don't plan on teaching, so the PhD doesn't...

Nope, It's Greensboro. It was awfully pretty around there, and the company seems like a really good place to work. I was actually planning to go back to school and finish my PhD until this popped up, and now I am trying to decide how much I want the PhD, and if I should continue in that route over t...

Possibly moving to NC

A good job opportunity has come up for me in North Carolina. I have never lived outside of Texas, and honestly I am fairly anxious as well as excited about moving. We have a 20mo old daughter, and the grandparents aren't too happy about the grand baby moving away. I haven't accepted the position yet...

That is very thin ice. If you haven't done anything and someone tried to detain you with force, you can certainly respond with force, and then press charges against them.

I will write a letter to him, as well as my reps. Charles, Does your bill include making it unlawful for a university to circumvent the law by threatening expulsion if a CHL is caught carrying while on the premises? Even though the legislature might make it OK, we all know the schools would still tr...

Right2carry, If it bothers you that much all you have to do is verbally tell the repairman that he isn't allowed to carry a concealed gun in your house before he enters. To tell you the truth, I would think it an odd question if I took your call when you scheduled service and you specifically asked,...
