I would not put one on my Glock and I agree that it is a flawed concept to force you to reach into the trigger guard to disengage it prior to pulling the trigger. It is also quite unnecessary in my opinion.

I use the C-Tac for my Glock 23. My habit is to also keep the gun and holster together and insert as one into the waistband. It is not to prevent forgetting th gun, I do that so as to not chance catching something in the trigger guard and causing a Negligent Discharge into my buttock/thigh.
