Re: Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I am fortunate that I get to be with my two sons and their families today. Three of the Grandchildren will not be able to be there but they will be in our thoughts.

Re: How long have you been carrying?

I started carrying about 1950. Was driving tractor and started carrying a pistol to shoot jackrabbits and have been carrying on and off ever since. Picked up the Texas CHL shortly after they started issuing CHLs just so I would be legal.

Re: Please identify some rifles for me

While I can't identify either of the rifles, I can say that neither is an M1 rifle or an M1 carbine. They appear to be military surplus.

Re: 18,400 members

I too thank Charles and the moderators for providing this forum that a lot of us enjoy a great deal.

We have also been adding new members at the rate of about 100 per month for at least the last several months (when I have been noticing) so our total numbers are increasing rapidly.

Re: Finally.... A Chance to Brag a Little

Congratulations to your son and also to you and your wife. As the father of 2 eagles and long time scouter (30+ years), I know how much effort is put in to get this award. It is something that he will never forget or regret.

Re: Show us your bolt guns

and a .25 caliber bullet is 6.5mm, so........

Not exactly. It would be between a 6mm and 6.5mm. 6.5 equals .264 caliber.

Re: Gun Rights Group Files Complaint with Taylor County

Does anyone know who this Texas Carry is or what type of group they are? I see that they have also filed on the Brown County Courthouse and there have been recent changes in the regulations there.

Re: Elastic waistband holster

I have used one of these for some time, in particular when wearing suit pants and shirt w/tie. It completely covers the trigger guard and has worked well for me. It would be a little slow getting in action if needed but at least you would have a handgun with you.

Remington Recall

I have heard that there is a recall on Remington Model700s and Model 7s. It is supposed to cover those made between 2006 and the present and is because of a faulty trigger. I don't have any other details yet but if you have one of those models in those years, you probably should do some checking. Ke...

Re: Affordable Deer Lease in North Texas Near DFW

More of an answer to the original question would be go to the Chamber of Commerce website in the area the you would like to get a lease. A lot of the area Chambers have a list of local hunting leases. I keep the four local county Chambers on my favorites list because I am always looking for what mig...
