Re: Let’s talk .22 pistols

Another happy M&P owner. It has almost exactly the same form factor and trigger as the Shield 9mm and I use it to practice cheaper and more for exactly that reason.

I’ll second the observation above that what you buy depends on how you’re gonna use it.

So, from the same source, here is the "Katrina Effect" on Houston's murder rate: Pop: Murder_Rate Murder Rate as a % of Population 2003 2,041,081 278 0.014% 2004 2,043,446 272 0.013% 2005 2,045,732 334 0.016% Katrina 2006 2,073,729 377 0.018% 2007 2,169,544 351 0.016% 2008 2,238,895 294 0....

Re: Video:Houston's 5th Ward drug scene + Fort Bend + Falfur

So this discussion made me curious - I go back and forth between both towns a lot and I have my own opinions, but here are some facts: City: Population: Violent Crime: Murder: Rape: Robbery: =============================================================================================================...

Re: Walked into Collectors Firearms in Houston...

So I've had really good and really average experiences here. I've decided that if I really want something I find someone that's helpful and doesn't have an attitude. If they do, I just walk and come back another time. Doing this I picked up a used Browning .22 for only $145. The mags needed new spri...

Re: How many of your friends and family.....

I'm with fickman. All my family and inlaws know. Most of my close friends know. A fair number of co-workers do and I don't hide it, though I'm not the first to bring up CHL in casual conversation.

As a result I've helped 8 people, including 3 co-workers buy third first gun and get their CHL.

Who's going to get close enough to check for breath? Just reholster when you're out of ammo and need to switch to the backup in your ankle holster.

Re: Remora Holsters

I have to provide another endorsement for these holsters. I got one for my Glock 30 based on this post and Average Joe's review with the young lady doing sommersaults with a full-sized 1911. It delivers as promised. While very tacky in your waistband, a determined tug can reposition it very easily. ...

Re: So what do you carry when you can't carry?

Thanks everyone for the replies! I like both the Kimber and Benchmade pen items. One note on 30.06 postings and my company's garage - while the legality of leaving the gun in the car is debateable, my company's stipulation that I follow all company rules or risk dismissal is not - I won't be trying ...

Re: So what do you carry when you can't carry?

(Personally, I put a dead fish in my pocket and minced onions and garlic under my armpits ... no one comes near enough to me to bother me anyway, but then I don't have to go places defenseless very often) :biggrinjester: at least you're safe from vampires. Stray cats, on the other hand..... :smilel...

Re: Get fitted for a suit...

Another recommendation for Jos. A. Banks as a CHL-friendly business. When I asked for a looser waist and wider belt loops to accomodate my favorite gun belt they immediately asked if I carried, how, and did everything I asked. Good people at the Sugar Land location.

So what do you carry when you can't carry?

My office and its private parking garage are 30.06 posted and in downtown Houston. In all other respects it's a great company and I'm not inclined to change jobs right now. I do get out on the surface streets for lunch, partner visits, and trips to service companies and Houston's downtown is OK, but...

Re: When Young Guns Invade

Great pistol! I have one but found the grips stick a little too far out for a strong side concealed carry. I do carry it and a CZ p06 in a cross draw position with a Galco Jak holster and found that very concealable and comfortable for road trips Everyone's comments about a good belt for a heavy gun...

Re: Weak side carry question.

When I carry my CZ P06, I carry in a Galco Jak in cross-draw mode. Very good for car carry and I like the penetration of the .40 when on the road. Tucked right inside my hip bone it is invisible no matter what I do (even stretching), whereas if I carry at 3-6pm on my belt the magazine tends to make ...

Re: Do you carry your phone and knife on strong or weak side

What works for me: cash, keys, and phone are on my weak side. Knife, wallet, and firearm are all on my strong side. My intent is to have my left hand offering up the pretty shiny things while my right prepares the surprise at the end of the conversation. Work and walk a lot in downtown Houston and t...
