Re: The Walking Dead!

Good finale. That fight early in the episode was BRUTAL! Good twist at the end. I think I know where they're going next with story (from reading cliff notes version of graphic novel plot) but for anyone who hasn't , should be another good surprise early next season.

I'm back on the bandwagon.

Did hou SEE last night's episode?!?

Eaux contraire mon frer, it's just gotten good.
:iagree:

They nearly lost me with that asinine "The Governor" storyline, but since that mercifully ended the second half of this season has been a very good return to horror, despair, and loneliness of the first two seasons.

Last nights episode is BRUTAL and powerful both physically and psychologically/emotionally.

I see no link whatsoever between the event in your link and this or other such shows.
Okay.

Do you believe that zombies roam the earth and that we should shoot 'em....on sight? If so, open fire whenever you see one or suspect one to be forthcoming.
1. No I don't believe zombies are real any more than I believe werewolves, vampires, or the Wicked Witch of the West is real; and I have no plans to go shooting any of them nor anyone else real or imagined. I'm intelligent and mentally fit enough to separate fiction from reality. Anyone who is not probably should not watch such shows nor carry a gun.

2. Even IF I DID believe in zombies et al., I STILL don't see the connection to the tragic shooting of an old man with a cane.

Ya think Glen at least washed that ring off a little?
The other thing that get me though it the idea that x months after the apocalypse, you can still just hot wire some random car. Battery still good. Injectors not clogged. Tires still have air.
Zombie Mechanics have been busy.
Not as busy as the zombie lawn mowers.

I doubt it. That's too "obvious" for writers who relish a big surprise. Someone will save her, but die doing so.

Humanity is Andrea problem. She good at killing Walking Dead but has a problem with Talking Dead. The Walk Dead has change from a dead human to an object. How the survivors are reshaped by the Walking Dead is the story. Surviving is of no value if you lose your humanity and your god. (They never talk about God. :headscratch ) It is just a tv story.

Old Farmer
Just my two cents
The old farmer character in the show (Herschel?) talks about God often, and his youngest daughter songs gospel songs.

Re: The Walking Dead!

I got a chuckle out of the this comment in a round table review of latest episode (silly libtards):
By the way, apropos of my obsession with proving that TWD has a not-so-hidden conservative agenda, I think I can declare victory now. Did you happen to notice that the Governor, in preparation for war, orders all the guns collected from the citizens of Woodbury? Wayne LaPierre could have written this episode. Of course, any form of entertainment about our post-apocalypse future buys in axiomatically to the preoccupations and fears of preppers, and preppers are predisposed to 2nd Amendment absolutism. But it's noteworthy that the Governor's despotism is illustrated by this dictatorial fiat.

Re: The Walking Dead!

Awesome episode. The big surprise was well done and the story this returning character tells is heartbreaking. Not to mention all the what-if parallels to Rick.

Re: The Walking Dead!

Chris wrote:Ok. Spent all of today watching the second season, and I'm finally done. Question...why don't they call them "zombies"?

It's not a bad show, and I hate to say I can't believe I've missed the last few years of it. Whoever is producing this show seems to have an agenda that you don't need anything but pump shotguns, revolvers, and bolt action rifles to defend yourself from zombie hordes. Although, I'm not quite sure they are getting the point across. A couple guys with AKs or ARs and a few hundred rounds would have made short work of that zombie horde that hit the farm; even one of those deuce and a half trucks, they passed up so many times, (that will run on all sorts of fuel) would have made a mess of them. But no, they chose to stay with a busted up motor home.

So now I gotta wait for season 3 re-runs to catch them in order.
Don't worry, in Season 3 when other surviving humans become a bigger problem than the zombies, the group finds some full-auto ARs and AKs laying around

Don't give up. Second half of second season is much better than first (though still thoroughly unbelievable).

AMC sure knows how to mess up good characters.
Yeah, everything was going fine in the episode until then, that was a bit much. Did that come from the comics though? or are the producers/writers just taking liberties?

From a few interviews I read of both the comic writer and the show producer, in comics there are multiple "phone calls" from the dead wife that - in TV time - would take place over multiple episodes. The TV folks decided this would get monotonous on TV, do decided to change it up with hallucinations instead. But in the comics Rick does repeatedly encounter the spirit of his dead wife, driving him toward madness.

Re: The Walking Dead!

That was quite possibly the most emotionally brutal episode of fiction in TV history.

And it's only episode 4 of 16 this season - I have NO IDEA where they go from here.

Return to “The Walking Dead!”
