Re: TSRA Annual starts today
Surprise, JMorris and I missed you at the AGM. He is quite correct, TSRA has had to make major budget cuts in order to stay solvent. The digital version of the Sportsman is great, and as most, I miss the print edition. Unfortunately, at $150k + per year it was not possible to keep it going and stay ...

Re: Bad Gateway error
I have not been getting Gateway errors, but for the last week plus have had a devil of a time just getting to the site and when I do, it does not remember me. Some days I find it impossible to even get to the site.

Re: It figures
Watch it with that really old stuff. Some of us are north of THAT number and still instructing. However, it does take a lot more effort to stay in shape than it used to.

Re: Lakewood Church
Local media out of Temple was rather emphatic that the rifle was purchased "Legally" in December. If she had the convictions as stated in a number of sources, WHERE was the rifle purchased and WHAT ID was used for NICS?

Re: It figures
Come on Jay, keep your finger in the instructing business, at least part time. I do it at an indoor range that has three other instructors. I do one Saturday and two or three weekdays a month.

Re: Can the USPS get any worse?
It isn't just packages. Simple birthday cards sent to my kids from Killeen, 7 days to Denton (a three hour drive) and 10 days to Kansas City. Cards to my Daughter in Bonn, Germany only take 7-10 days through the APO system.

Re: Nobody but Art Acevedo
No community input or public process for a job paying more than a quarter of a million dollars a year? I say again, YGBSM! Acevedo needs to go away, far away from Texas. Wish the Austin City Council would call Garza to account for this, but knowing Austin, I doubt it. Bet Austin sees even greater lo...

It is NOT on the RSD Forms list. The one I had attached to the email was not really attached, but embedded in the email and showed what info went where.

Re: First Responder Training 21-23 Sept
IIRC DPS stated that they had not received any class completions for FR training. Great instructor course, glad I took it, but really do not see that there will be much (if any) demand.

Re: Official DPS stats on LTC for 2023
Dr. John Lott in his 2021 testimony before the Texas House Committee regarding permit less carry stated that for a while following passage, LTC applications would go down, but after a while and if advantages of having a license were better known that applications would eventually go up. I am still s...

Thos could get very interesting. What is next, VA facilities. Military installations are somewhat of a fiefdom on their own. Waiting to see how this plays out.

Re: LTC-104 - New form that replaces the LTC-100 & LTC-101's takes effect on 1 May 2024
If I read their email correctly (and I am going to re-read it), we now have to fill out the "middle portion" for range instruction for ALL students, not just the proficiency only students. Also in my initial read, it also appears that the "Range Instruction" is separate from the ...

Re: New Problem! M1A or M1 Carbine
Military production ended in August 1945. Commercial production continues to this day. I have a couple of WW-II carbines and they are a joy to shoot. Really want an M-1A, but am too cheap and really would have it just to HAVE IT.
