Re: 2023 Instructor Renewals
Finally, two plus weeks after submitting everything, I see on the RSD site that my background check is under review. Everything else is green so now just waiting for confirmation and the test. Not much really changed this legislative session other than the clarification regarding grounds where a sch...

Re: Texas State Fair Carry Rules
Have not been since the September before the Covid lockdown. Want to go back this year if it will ever cool off a little. Have carried at the State Fair numerous times with no issue. Did not look at the link, but anyone know when the State Fair will have their Military Appreciation Day?

Re: TSA Approved Lock or Non-TSA Approved Lock?
Never an issue at Killeen Regional, DFW, Norfolk VA, Kansas City, Raliegh NC, Manhattan KS. Orlando was a PITA, but finally got through their hoops. Did not fly with a firearm in Atlanta, but when they refused to accept my military retiree ID when I checked a bag and they asked for a "State Iss...

Re: TSA Approved Lock or Non-TSA Approved Lock?
ONLY YOU may have the key/combination. TSA locks can be opened by anyone in TSA (and quite a few others). If TSA wants to inspect your firearm, YOU must open the case.
I have flown many, many times with firearms, though not in the last 2 years.

Re: 2023 Instructor Renewals
ARRRRGH Did my application early this morning and paid the fee, then did my LTC-90, LTC-100, and a copy of my NRA Certs, uploaded them all as supporting documents and now get an email that they received, but do not have my application. Called and the nice person asked if I had paid my fee which I to...

Re: 2023 Instructor Renewals
Finally got back from vacation and got my paperwork together. Was great to shoot my S&W Model 19 again. I forget how smooth and accurate it is. THINK everything is uploaded now and will just wait for the link.

Re: What NRA Instructors Are Seeing
Agree with Tex. I do not care who is in the class as long as they are legally eligible to possess a firearm. I primarily teach LTC, but also do "Introduction to Pistol Shooting" (not the official NRA Basic Pistol). Over the last 3-4 years I have seen a huge increase in women and minorities...

Re: TX: Groesbeck ISD Armed To Protect
Great. Hope more districts avail themselves of the options that are available, particularly the Guardian Program. The main mantra of the Guardian Program is PROTECT THE STUDENTS and STOP THE THREAT. In no way are Guardians Police nor do they want to be, but in a situation where seconds can mean live...

Re: us soldier walked into north korea or was he cpatured or ???
All the data I am reading says this dirt-bag was being sent home and was to be discharged following NJP. He then left his unit, joined the tour group (tours of Panmunjom are a common tourist tour) and then ran into the nK side. Leave him there and do not expend ANY effort to get him back. Tell Kim J...

Re: When should I get notification
Getting ready to go visit daughter and grandkids in Germany. Already have my NRA certs, will do paperwork and shoot with a colleague when I get back. Now to see if DPS does anything whacky like change the written test.

Re: When should I get notification
Looks like the instructors at the range where I work part time will be doing our "round robin" where one of us does the other four and then someone does him. Need to print and scan my most recent NRA cert.
