Re: LEO Stamped Hi-Cap Magazines
+1 with A-R. No restriction on owning them (at least in TX). I have a few and they are a slightly interesting collectible novelty. When I bought a PD trade-In Glock 22 that came with 3 mags, 2 we LE marked and the 3rd not. Surplus stores around Ft Hood abound with "Government-LE" marked M-...

Re: Calibers for proficiency
Skeathley, Why the issue with the 7.62x25 Tokarev. That round has been used extensively in eastern bloc sub-machine guns and several pistols. It will penetrate most level II body armor in the FHJ version and if you look at the ballaitics, it is close in velocity to a .3457 magnum. it is most assured...

Come on Charles,We aren't that old and anyway I catch re-runs of Josh with his Mare's Leg on Satudays on, I think it is, ME-TV in Central Texas. They also run Lone Ranger, Rifleman, Jim Bowie, and many other 1950s-60s westerns.

Re: Straus Sending Ominous Message on Campus-Carry
Having been in and around the military all of my life, I can tell you from 60+ years of experience that most senior officers of any branch of the military are not in favor of "common people" carrying firearms, only uniformed military and police. The fact that a retired Admiral (McRaven) is...

Thank you Charles for once again being the voice of reason. Regardless of what some of the more ardent supporters of OC believe, we all must work together to portray a responsible, mature side of firearm ownership and use. ![tiphat :tiphat:](./images/smilies/tiphat.gif)

Re: BCG Cleaning / How Often Do You Clean AR Extractor?
Define cleaning the extractor. Do you mean a detailed stripping of the bolt and scrubbing the extractor and all other parts then re-assembling? Or do you mean scrubbing the bolt face to include the extractor with a cleaning brush and solvent then using a pick to clean under the extractor and then re...

Re: Hi-Point 9MM Carbine
Have a Hi Point 9mm Carbine I picked up used for $130 including 4 magazines. Ugly as sin, goes bang every time the trigger is pulled on a round, accurate enough for 4-legged or 2-legged varmits out to about 50 yards (never tried further than that). Not my first choice for hunting, self defense, or t...

I am 5'10" and place my targets at MY height---Me looking directly at the head of the B-27. Not sure it really matters as long as it is reasonable

Re: Auditing a CHL class
Since the requirement to have a class to renew has gone away, I offer a CHL Refresher Course. I emphasize that this course is in no way required, but offered for those folks that would like an update on the most current laws as well as an opportunity to shoot, not only the DPS aproved course of fire...

Re: Proficiency Test at a Later Date
Um, have I been doing it wrong? I have been teaching the class (4 hours) on Friday evening and shooting on Saturday morning. CHL 100 dates are the Friday date for the written test on the top half and the Saturday date for the proficiency demo on the bottom half.

Re: TABC Proposed Rule Change and Impact on Guns Shows and G
REALLY-REALLY bad idea. This has all the earmarks of a false flag operation by the anti's. I can hear them now that all the "Bubbas that go to gun shows just to swill beer and trade unregistered guns." Playing right into their hands. Also the above comments about a back door way to shut do...

Have a couple of the CMMG conversion kits. Work just fine as long as you keep them relatively clean and well lubed.
