It is. I knew it!The Annoyed Man wrote:PM Sent!C-dub wrote:What? You're moving farther away from me? That's unacceptable.
Is the new place really bigger? You lost me there. I'm thinking that our next house, after the child moves out, will probably be a little smaller since we won't require as much space for stuff and a child and her stuff and will be easier to maintain in advancing years. But you're going bigger? Is this to be able to store more firearms and ammo?

What? You're moving farther away from me? That's unacceptable. The Annoyed Man wrote:Yeah, we made an offer on a new (to us) home in North Richland Hills, which is contingent on our Grapevine home being sold. That offer was accepted. Our house listed today and begins showing tomorrow. I am WAY too busy, with not nearly enough time to accomplish everything that needs to be done, to take Saturday off for skeet shooting and lunch with you guys. Believe me, I'd MUCH rather be shooting skeet than power-washing driveways, etc., but it just HAS to be done. IIRC, escrow on the new home closes on 10/26, so between now and then, I won't have time for much of anything. Heck, between illness, a California vacation, and badly injuring my ankle, I haven't even been to a range since before last May.AndyC wrote:TAM can't make it, too busy on Sat.
I would have REALLY liked to join you guys, but it is not to be.
The up-side is that homes in my neighborhood, and specifically on my block, never last more than 24-48 hours after listing, and they always sell above the asking price. So with a little attention to things, we're going to come out of this in really good shape, with a HUGE new home.

Re: Speaking of skeet...
My daughter is coming with me, so that's at least 4. She hasn't had much luck yet at stations 3, 4, and 5, but I told her you guys could probably help her more/better than I have been able to so far.Pawpaw wrote:I'm ready! Is it just going to be the three of us, or are there more coming?
I thought TAM was also going to try and make this one.

Re: Speaking of skeet...
I picked up 200 rounds of 12ga and 200 rounds of 20ga today. I'll probably give my shotgun the once over tomorrow to make sure it's still speaking to me. I haven't taken it out to play in a few months and am not sure we're currently on speaking terms. I hope it will forgive me if I give it a little TLC tomorrow and take it out to play on Saturday.

Re: Speaking of skeet...
Schedule is not out yet and I was assured last night by the coach that they would not have any games on the 9th.

Not final yet, but my wife thinks the first softball game of the season is on the 9th.

Re: Speaking of skeet...
At this time, 9.9 is definitely doable and although 10.7 is currently clear, we might be able to also make that one depending on softball schedules.AndyC wrote:Yeah, don't want to interfere with that.C-dub wrote:Food for thought, maybe we should take 9.23 off the table for this skeet shoot since that is the day some folks are going to Bitter Clinger's tactical class he's arranged for us.
9/9 sounds good to me, actually - with the option for another on 10/7 :)
How about.... 9/9 at Elm Fork and 10/7 at Alpine?
But, I'm just one RSVP so far.

I think was about a year ago. I thought you got out not long after getting that new shotgun earlier this spring or last fall. The Annoyed Man wrote:The last time I shot skeet was with you guys. It seems like forever. I'd probably be up for a few rounds at some point. It would be great to get together again.

Thoughts?
IDK, my daughter won't do the handgun class, but would do the skeet shoot.

Re: Speaking of skeet...
It's still an option. Getting together for some skeet at Elm Fork is a bit more flexible for the group. If I commit to that and then can't make it I would feel terrible for taking a spot someone else could've had, but if I can't make it to Elm Fork due to last minute schedule issues that really wouldn't be the same.Bitter Clinger wrote:Still coupla spots open for handgun training on 9/23 also. Just sayin...C-dub wrote:Saturday would be better.
I'm off the following Saturday's with no softball games scheduled yet.
8.26

Re: Speaking of skeet...
I'm pretty sure both of us are in with the following caveats that shouldn't stop anyone from going without us.
I work every other weekend and school is starting up, which means so is fall softball. Family before skeet. We hope to see ya'll out there and bust a few.
