Re: Average time between Mailing & online update
Well the online status updated today and it says everything is good up to the BG check is still being processed. That and sending to the printer are the only items remaining. 40 days from mailing on a renewal.

Average time between Mailing & online update
I was wondering how long it takes before the online status gets updated. I have a renewal this year, got my notice letter from DPS and did the online application. The checklist said all that I needed was the CHL-100. After taking the renewal class, I mailed my form (along with the bar-coded checklis...

Re: Boston Tried a Police State and it Failed
I wonder how many don't fly domestically anymore because of TSA? Some I know like me would rather drive or not go... I no longer leave the country either, but if I did I'd seek an alternative than tolerate TSA. I have to go from Houston to Tulsa for work next week. I asked the customer if he would ...

Not to hijack the thread, but how long before expiration can you take the renewal?

Re: The meaning of a "liberal" education
I could maybe see someone taking this out of context if they had NO idea that it was a quote from a show. But to put it in perspective, it isn't any worse than some quotes from Shakesphere:
Cry Havoc! And slip loose the dogs of war!
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother.

Re: Obama's Jobs Speech
He said "you must pass this bill" 18 times during his speech. I guess instead of Nancy Pelosi's 'You have to pass the bill to see what's in it" we've gone to Barrack Obama's 'You have to pass the bill so we can write it'!

Re: Commerical Vehicle Carry
I have a company leased vehicle that shows up on a Texas registration with my name as the person the vehicle is in care of. My company has a policy that firearms are prohibited on company property. No where in the corporate rules and guidelines are firearm and vehicles mentioned together ( < 1% of e...

LOL - for those that cannot believe the hour or more....have you actually been to the downtown Houston Specs location? It is AMAZING! Yeah, you can do an hour easy at the downtown one. If my wife is with me, we can do an hour at the one in Katy that has a cheese/deli section. AS far as the OP's que...

I gotta admire a politician who can speak plainly without double standard poli-speak. There was no ambiguity about what Mr. Poe was saying.

Re: After deadly force
I got the opportunity to listen to Charles giving a Texas Self-Defense & Deadly Force Laws seminar. It was excellent!! He covers many things that allow you to know where you stand if you fire and suggests how to handle yourself with the LEOs that come on the scene. Where are these seminars held...

Simple distraction. Look at my left and you'll ignore my right hand.
This is a case of "Look! We are doing something about the guns going to Mexico (while implementing more gun control at the same time)." Pretty obvious actually.

Re: Houston gun range that will cater to team event?
There is a place northwest of Houston called the Impact Zone that while not open to the public, is used by a few IDPA clubs and Tactical Training schools. You might want to give them a call. http://www.theimpactzonerange.com
