Re: How many of us will be renewing just after Sept 1?

My chl expires in January. I envision there will be such a backlog along with the
rule changes that I might not get my renewal before my license expires...

However, It might be close enough to Sep 1 that I may not be able to get into a
class before then... Catch 22?

Re: Trade gun across state lines

Sending a gun to be repaired is not a transfer of ownership. As I understand it,
I can send my gun to be repaired (pretty sure the factory is FFL). It came back
straight to me as the owner.

I think the problem comes when trying to trade weapons or sell one to an individual
living in another state.

Crossbreed holsters has some velcro-backed holsters as well (which is where I got mine)

Re: Just got back home. Alarm at my offices went off!

I keep a gun in a holster that is velcroed under my desktop within easy grab. Not noticeable unless you get on your hands and knees...

Re: Shooting out of a boat

If they're not actively coming into the boat, leave em alone. My property is surrounded by wetland forest and snake are often on my property. I simple run them off with tapping the ground with a shovel if they appear in my yard. Have I killed any? Sadly, yes. A few of the venomous types that presen...

Re: City revised park rules, success!

"Firearms are strictly prohibited unless otherwise permitted by state law. " I think the highlighted phrase is the key. To the uninitiated masses this means no guns. To us as CHL holders, this is a nod to the state law that allows us to carry, and thus should prevent arrest on that city-ow...

Re: What to practice to improve score

+1 on the dry-fire. I've heard to balance a coin across the front sight and practice without dislodging that coin. I've never tried that, so it may or may not work. I also like an airsoft gun for easy practice indoors - cheap, safe and good "dry-fire" with a feedback on the actual results....

looking for reload data - 45 acp

Well, I have been scrambling to find components and powder where and when I can. I bought some 200grain FPJ (Flat Point Jacketed) bullets that are .4515 in diameter. (Sierra Tournament Master, Match. Bullet # 8825) The closest load data I have is Lyman load data for a 200 gr Jacketed HP and it calls...

Re: 1911 Range Gun - WTB (maybe)

My first 1911 was a Rock Island Match-Grade 1911. It has ambi-safeties (I'm a lefty) and a fiber optic front sight and a moveable rear sight. It has been a blast to shoot and I look forward to many more years of shooting it. Forgot to mention that they are not super expensive. For daily carry I repl...

If I dropped about 40 pounds on my toe, I know my neck would suddenly stop bothering me. :-)

Re: Had to stop shooting for a while...

Thank you for your service, Andy! And for your kind encouragement and information you provide here on this board. I'm glad you are finding some pain relief. My pain is in my neck - I played adult recreational league ice hockey as a goalie and got ran into a number of times while I was down covering ...

Re: Video: GG, shooting from driver's seat, fells carjacker.

Was that a second carjacker that beat a hasty retreat, or an innocent pedestrian? I think it was the former...

Edited to say, after looking again I think it was an innocent pedestrian. They came around the corner after
the shooting began.
