Re: Cuffed and Stuffed
I ran across this thread last night and read all the posts. I thought about what I would do, complain or sue? I am not litigous by nature but filing a lawsuit may be the only way to get to the information I would be interested in. As I understand the facts this guy was reported to the police as hav...

Re: Question regarding PA Non-Resident Carry License
Yes. The two licenses have nothing to do with one another, except that Pennsylvania seems to accept the Texas training and background checks to some extent. Texas turnaround times are coming way down. There is still a backlog, but by 2014 I expect turnaround will be in the neighborhood of 5 minutes...

Question regarding PA Non-Resident Carry License
I followed the advice of a post I saw earlier somewhere here and got a Pennsylcania License to Carry. Amazingly quick I might add. Check and application sent December 17 and permit issued Dec 22 and received by me Dec 28. My question is this. My TX CHL expires 5/16/14 and the PA expires 12/22/14. I ...

Re: Harris, Galveston & Brazoria Co's: Email your state reps!
Well I can't compete with that. I did go to Sam's Club today. I guess that would be a Sammy Saunter. Does that qualify? :txflag: Well, after many calls, emails, letters (only my rep replied) and 174 days I got my plastic in the mail today! I am ready for a Wally Walk I guess, though I am not sure wh...

Well, after many calls, emails, letters (only my rep replied) and 174 days I got my plastic in the mail today! I am ready for a Wally Walk I guess, though I am not sure what that exactly refers to. Perhaps carrying into a WalMart?

Re: 100+ Club
The funny part is, theyre doing work they don't have to! The level of the background check required is at their discretion. If they simply reduced it to a simple electronic check, then it wouldn't take more then a few seconds for each one, but, from what I've heard, theyre doing a LOT more detailed...

to larryh Well I may not beat the guy waiting 200 days. Called today and CHL is being printed. I should get it about a week and a half, so apparently the printers are as slow as everything else connected to this process. Website says I am still in "Processing Application" Status so I hope...

Re: Harris, Galveston & Brazoria Co's: Email your state reps!
Well Praise Be To Glory! I called DPS today and waited for 15 minutes for a technician. I got the same person I spoke with two weeks ago. She said my BG check came in three days after I called. I don't know what it means, but she told me my license was being printed and to be expecting it in about a...

Re: Harris, Galveston & Brazoria Co's: Email your state reps!
I wrote and emailed Mike Jackson and Ken Legler. Mike Jackson has ignored both my missives. Ken Legler had an assistant email me but no action has occured and no further reply has happened. I also contacted my Harris County Commissioner with nary a reply. I will be at 180 days come August 25. I'm ab...

Re: "Waiting Room"
El Paso County can't be any worse than Harris County. DPS has been telling me since april they are waiting on Harris County BG. Been waiting 15 days shy of 6 months since they recieved my app.
App mailed 02/20/09
DPS received 02/27/09
08/11/09 Status "Processing Application"

Re: How often do you check your status?
I still check it after 165 days and it never changes. I have written both of my state legislators. Got a reply from my rep but no help and no reply from my senator nor County Commissioner. Numerous calls to DPS to no avail. All I get is "waiting on Harris County". Has any one else been wai...
