Re: I Bought A New Carry...

Went to the range today. Overall I was impressed with this little thing. I feel like I could have shot another 200 rounds down it without taxing my hands, the grips felt great, I could reach the safety and mag release easily, and the sights were very easy to see. Speaking of sights, those suckers we...

Re: Grab Your Towel, and Don't Panic

Just saw this and thought about something funny. I always carry a bunch of "unnecessary" things in my car. It drives my neat and tidy husband crazy because, to him, it's clutter. Among other things, I like to keep a sweatshirt in the car in the event that the weather changes and I need som...

Re: best prank but it gets me irritated

Simple but very annoying for the recipient. Every night go to http://www.wakeupdialer.com/ and schedule a wake-up call for 4 a.m. to her number. Fight fire with fire, I say. :evil2:

Looking for work in Lubbock

Recent grad with a BA in Biology, minor Psychology. If you are offering a job (or know someone who is) that might be relevant, please let me know. Heck, it doesn't even really have to be relevant. I'm just sick of waiting tables.

As an added bonus for employers, you know I'll be packing at work! ;-)

Re: Wife puts foot down?

My wife and I have an agreement; I don't ask about shoes and purses and she doesn't ask about all the UPS deliveries. We both understand our budget and how much is too much and when to ask permission. My wife and I have the mutual account which is our money, and we each have our own separate accoun...

Re: Buying guns as a lady......

When I was shopping for my S&W 60 I encountered a guy who said, "Oh you don't want that. How about this nice little Airweight in .38 special?" I replied, "I don't want a .38 special. I want a .357 for a reason." "Well, ladies can't really handle .357 that well." &qu...

Re: I Bought A New Carry...

Didn't get to go to the range today; they were closed for a CHL class with no mention of it on their website. :grumble Wanted to say that I found Critical Defense ammo for $5 cheaper than the Zombie rounds at Academy. Wal-mart had the best ammo prices here, though. It was disappointing since I hate ...

Re: Sig P239 SAS vs P938

Well dang. We were all packed up to go to the range, I got 300 rounds of ammo to shoot plus a box of Zombie rounds.... and when we got to Patriot Arms they were closed for a CHL class. I guess I will have to wait until next weekend. I'm kind of grumpy about that, because it wasn't posted on their we...

Re: I Bought A New Carry...

I had a friend with land back in the Dallas area, but I don't have any friends out here in Lubbock. Anyone live out this way? We could be shooting buddies! Am I loosing my mind or have you recently moved? Didn't you used to live up near Sherman? You aren't going crazy. Well, at least not because of...

Re: Gun purchase funded in the strangest way...

We have a change jar, too. Over the course of a year we collected over $100 in change. We specifically set aside any extra cash at the end of each week in a jar labeled "Gun Fund" and that money goes towards the purchase of guns and accessories. Usually I can put back at least $15 a week, ...

Re: I Bought A New Carry...

SewTexas - I will wear pink clothes, but not often. I don't have pink accessories. And I don't think I could stand a pink gun. I much prefer the all black. I don't look down upon those who want a pink gun or accessories; you should be happy with whatever color you choose because in the end, it still...

Re: Sig P239 SAS vs P938

Thanks for the input on the 938. I finally found a gun shop with one in stock, and I have to say... I much preferred the 238. It felt much better in my hand. The increased depth of the grip on the 938 was a big turn-off. With either one, I needed the extended mag in order for it to feel comfortable ...

Is it? I bought some as a gift for a friend last year and it was the same price as Critical Defense. :grumble

Re: I Bought A New Carry...

The last thing I would worry about if I was involved in a shooting is the kind of ammunition I was using. Maybe in Kalifornia, the People's Republik of Illinois, Noo Joisy or, Massachusetts it might be an issue. But not The Great State of Texas. If asked, just tell them it was all they had at the g...
