Re: Yet another pro v. con thread on open carry

Oh, and I'd like to repeat my thoughts about the most common reason people say they would continue to conceal: that they don't want to lose the "element of surprise". I'm sorry, but that's just not logical. There's no such thing as a defensive element of surprise: if you need to deploy you...

Re: TSRA support of Texas Open Carry

All the reasons listed by the OP in his reply seemed a little lame to me. :headscratch You are the OP. "OP" = "Original Poster", the person who starts a thread. What is lame about Conagher's list? Everything he points out is valid: there are many things that we do, or should be ...

Re: TSRA support of Texas Open Carry

...my year old suggestion that OC be promoted by a Texas-based organization rather than Virginia-based OpenCarry.org. Charles, I respectfully request that you stop repeating this canard. The only thing "Virginia-based" about opencarry.org is that one of the two owners lives there. And, on...

I don't see the attraction of carrying Glocks or derringers, but I don't think they should be illegal.

Your personal mode of carry should be your personal choice. That's all the reason needed to legalize OC.

So... in essence, the guy gets his home and property seized for digging a hole in his yard.

I feel so much safer now.

Kansas makes serious improvements

Kansas has a very brief "must issue" history, and their original statute wasn't great, but they've made some serious strides toward improving things. On Monday, their Senate Bill 306 was signed into law, and should take affect in a couple of weeks. The most drastic improvement is changing ...

Re: TOO STUPID FOR WORDS!!!

I have to wonder... has everyone here had a humorectomy recently? You have to take a silly/humorous/staged/sarcastic photo so seriously, as if it reflects on you personally?

Lighten up, folks. This is the internet.

I guess you have to have a weird sense of humor, but I thought the fat guy was funny... especially after seeing the video he was mocking. I thought he was mildly amusing, but trying too hard, until I saw the original. I made it all the way through the spoof, but I had to stop the original bec...

Re: probable cause to pull me over......

The Police do not need probable cause to pull people over. Really, can you please post the statute that backs this statement up? Probable cause is needed for arrest. Reasonable suspicion is all that is needed to pull you over. And the crowd goes wild!!! Unless it's for speeding, in which case they ...

Houston-area folks, there's a dealer in Magnolia with a couple of them available:

I am amazed at how many chl's don't know what a 30.06 sign looks like. Re: The Day I’ll Join The NRA – An Open Letter To Ted Nugent

What has GOA accomplished? Nothing, not one single thing. Chas. It did achieve something. It made you and the NRA look like moderates. K. I hope no one downplays or overlooks the importance of this fact. If the NRA is the only game in town, if they have no one whom they can point at as advocates of...

Re: TSRA support of Texas Open Carry

I've followed the issue from both sides, and in both major forums that discuss the matter. I don't think anyone equated TSRA choosing not to get involved as "opposition". I think the "opposition" sentiment comes mostly from the Students for Concealed Carry on Campus effort to di...

Re: Surely you guys didn't miss this...

I didn't miss it, just didn't think it was germane to this forum. The details that are breaking fairly early make it look mighty ugly for the DPD team that conducted this entry. They were filming for the "First 48" show, and perhaps were inclined to add some drama for the cameras. Well, I ...
