Re: Off Duty Officer and guys recording at wal-mart

Not all arrests lead to an indictment. Not even all felony arrests.

Public Restrooms

Not what you're thinking. There are too many of those threads already. :ack: We read occasional stories about someone leaving a handgun in a public restroom. Citizens and cops alike. Suppose someone did that in Texas. Could they be charged with violating 46.13? Should they be charged? I say a public...

we outlaw ethanol I hope you mean "in gasoline" and not in bourbon. That would be a shame, and difficult to support. I think they should remove government mandates and subsidies. If a company can sell E10 or E85 at a price consumers are willing to buy, without getting special ta...

It's a fed thing. http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/nonimmigrant-aliens.html#green-card" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; However, you will need to put your alien number or admission number on the ATF Form 4473 (5300.9) and provide the FFL with documentation establishing you hav...

Re: Texas CHL requirements? Not strict enough?

What do people think about suspending a CHL before someone is convicted? I think that sounds a lot like guilty until proven innocent. It's also hard to think of a situation where I would need a CHL more than if I shot a gang member. If I'm charged with a crime, my name and address are public record ...

What do you consider Constitutional carry? Expand MPA (must conceal, must not be committing any other crime) to pedestrians? Repeal all of chapter 46? Something in between?

Re: RollTide in Texas! New to CHL and the Forum!

This sign was plainly displayed on the front door, but there was no 30.06 nor a 51% sign anywhere. So I ordered lunch!! Good for you knowing the difference already! You'll see the "Felony Notice" sign at grogery and convenience stores too. It's a reminder that UCW is generally a misdemean...

Re: Obama speech on guns - The Onion exclusive :-)

This is just my opinion, but I think that the best way to ensure the security of your computer is to use an operating system that isn't full of holes like Windows is. But that's just me. Windows is pretty secure if you don't download untrusted applications, random screensavers, pornography, pirated...

Re: Texas CHL requirements? Not strict enough?

I agree. Some crimes shouldn't be crimes in the first place. (Like selling liquor on Sunday. ) I also think there's a difference between violent misdemeanors and non-violent ones, but I don't understand the Lautenberg logic that says hitting a stranger for rooting for the Steelers is more acc...

Texas CHL requirements? Not strict enough?

Up for discussion (AKA I wanted to comment but didn't want to hijack the legislation thread.) Are the Texas CHL requirements too lenient, too strict, or about right? And besides, why NOT issue the license in the meantime? You haven't been convicted of anything. If you are flipping off drivers or swe...

Re: Private University Parking Lot?

Another thing to remember is MPA only defines a set of circumstances where you're not guilty of UCW. It doesn't prevent a business or private residence from posting trespass notice signs (30.05 and/or 30.06) at the edge of their property, where the notice includes buildings and grounds and parking a...
