Re: Dec 26, 2021
This is the northern part of the country in Kurdistan, it's significantly different from the rest of the country. There's a section of the nearby city with a bunch of different non-Muslim places of worship. Haven't seen a synagogue yet though. That's probably pushing it a little too much :smilelol5:

Re: Dec 26, 2021
I've been busy at work, I'm contracting in Iraq now. I'll be thrilled when I finally have the brains to give this up  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you :cheers2: Wait! You just got back to the States. At least it seems like "just"; barely in front of the massive Afghan...

Re: Different Triggers On Different ARs in Safe.
I actually prefer 2-stage triggers for my combat rifles, and all of mine have a LaRue MBT-2S. My precision AR has a Hiperfire HPTE, so I'm kind of backwards from everyone else since it's a single stage ;-) To answer your question, yeah, it can be confusing dealing with multiple different setups. All...

Re: Why setting up your rifle based on the mission is wrong
Thank you for sharing this. I have run an ACOG for the past 12 years and think it works well from point blank to as far as a AR will shoot. Don't understand the need for the VCOG. My ACOG has the ACSS reticle which I find works just fine for close in shooting for me. The ACOG is slower with target ...

Re: Red dot optic suggestions
I go for American-made first, non-Chinese second (which leaves out Holosun and most Primary Arms, not to mention dozens of other companies). That being said I'm extremely happy with my Aimpoint (Sweden) and Trijicon (almost all US) optics. The battery life on EOTech is terrible, I no longer own one....

Re: Time to modernize qual - allow Red Dots
I just acquired a Vortex Venom to mount onto my Ruger .22 pistol - an OuterImpact plate (to replace the picatinny rail and get the sight lower) should be here later today. Edit: Got it and installed; a lot sleeker than the Pic rail would have been: https://i.imgur.com/aeiSs32.jpg Should make for a ...

Re: Time to modernize qual - allow Red Dots
We've all seen inexperienced shooters try to shoot with a laser and it didn't help them  Red dots are no different and the sole advantage they might have (over traditional iron sights) is a single plane of focus. Everything still comes down to trigger-control once the sight - in whatever f...

Re: Vacationing in gun free Mexico
(Post from 2018) I spent a lot of my youth throughout the country as a missionary kid. No way I'd go back by choice now. So I'm in Mexico by choice right now... :smilelol5: In Playa del Carmen less than 300 miles from where I spent much of my childhood as a missionary kid. Still the exact same Mexi...

If anyone is interested, I left Bagram today and am sitting in Kabul waiting for the plane to refuel. Lord willing I'll be having dinner in Dubai in a few hours. Thanks to all who have prayed for our safe return. Since I last posted we didn't get attacked again in Bagram and most of my guys are on ...
