Re: Magazine being released when I sit?

Finally! An advantage to being left handed! (mag release points out, not in!)

Re: Pulled the trigger on a P938

Speaking of "pulling the trigger," I was at a well-stocked SIG dealer recently and noticed that the trigger quality on both the 238's and 938's vary considerably from gun to gun. Some are quite nice right out of the box while others were like a box of rocks and felt about +2 lbs heavier. M...

Re: Recommendations for 40 Single Stack Ambi?

I am a southpaw and the Kahr K40 is an excellent carry option. No its not ambi, but working either the slide release or mag release is very easy to do w/your trigger finger, and it is a great sized gun. I would suggest going with the all steel 'K' version vs. 'PM' poly frame; the extra weight and st...

Re: Cartridge tumblers for reloading? Which one to buy?

Ditto on the Dillon - plus anything in Dillon blue comes with that awesome lifetime, no bull warranty.

Re: Revolver, that is my question...

If you are going to carry, I suggest you get past the "no tail" thing; consider it your bull dog or dobie...! No need for a SA trigger for defensive carry, and the hammer is just a lint and snag magnet. I have a particular fondness for S&W Centennials. I have one that I had Wygend do h...

Re: Reloading...........anyone?

Can't say enough good things about Dillon Precision. The best company I have ever dealt with, regardless of type of product, and their equipment is outstanding. Back when I was shooting competitively and burning through about 10-15K rounds a year, I had 3 of their reloaders (a 550, a 650 and a squar...

Re: ATTN Wheelgun fans: J-Frame dilemma

I hear you about the knife 74NovaMan...I have three different Benchmade tantos - my current fav is a 3.5" Mel Pardue design. Love those axis locks. Feel absolutely nekkid without a blade on me. And to Stroman - I have a Kahr P380, but I think I'd rather just have a few speedloaders instead. Tha...

ATTN Wheelgun fans: J-Frame dilemma

For those who still live in caves, ride horses to get around, and sometimes prefer firearms that function in a circular fashion, help me decide. I currently have a S&W 640 that has a custom ported 2 1/8" barrel, dovetail front sight and slicked up action that Bill Weigand dod for me years a...

Re: Climbing Mount Kahr-mel

Ya know, the more I shoot my Kahrs, the more I like them. Trying to settle on a preferred 'light carry' choice, I went to the range the other day with the K40 and Sig P290 for a shoot out, alternating 10 rounds out of each at two stacked Shoot-n-See 6" targets @ 7 yds. through 200 rounds. The v...

Re: Consolidating Calibers- Good Idea or Bad?

I've been slowly consolidating both calibers (and guns) over the last 10 years (partly because back when I started I was doing a lot of reloading, so that adds another layer of incentive; had three Dillons up and running for 38, 45 and 40.) No surprises as to my choices: .22/.38-357/.40/.45, 5.56 an...

Re: At what age do you take your children to the range?

Bought my daughter a Chipmunk when she was 6, and we've been shooting together ever since. She's 20 now, and even though only 5'1" and maybe 100 lbs soaking wet, she handles a 45 better than most people I see shooting at the range. Unfortunately, she elected to return the Peoples Republic of Il...

Re: Eye sight and getting older

Good idea about the different lenses Seabear. I just hit the ole' "double nickel" last week, and have struggled with the frustration of ever-widening groups with each passing year since I turned 40. The problem is clearly focusing on the front sight. It was nothing but a blur with bifocals...

Re: New: Kimber Micro CDP .380

Ha! I guess this is their alternative to the Solo Carry debacle... At least this time they are sticking with a design they understand. But compared to my Kahr P380, this thing looks huge.

It is a fascinating piece; the one thing that stood out from the AR article was that I recall the accuracy results weren't very good compared to most revolvers.

Re: A Tale of 2 9mm Sub Compacts: Kimber vs. Sig

It seems I hear more bad stories about Kimber these days than any other brand. Has their QC been slipping, or have they always been hit or miss and made up for it with great marketing I wonder? My understanding is that Kimber is very backordered. Could be a major contributing factor to quality issu...
