Re: Smollett Verdict - More armed and unarmed violence in gun free Chicago

Hate hoax's are so destructive they need to be severely punished. Putting an end to hate means ending these hoax's that have become rampant. Now maybe we can get rid of the guy who said bridges are racist.
The question is: will he really be punished? At least 3 years of prison would be punishment - community service is not. And I have no illusions that this will end the false racism hoaxes. i was nearby when Sharpton pulled the Tawana Brawley fiasco for which he has never paid any price. Until there is a pattern of punishment against such false claims, they will continue.

Re: More armed and unarmed violence in gun free Chicago

So, if I'm understanding this correctly,

1. A woman with a prior guilty verdict for the illegal possession of a firearm without a FOID
2. Is hired by either the City or the Schools as a "safe passage" worker
3. Hits a woman and steals her public assistance card to draw out money. The fact that the card allows cash withdrawals is a problem in and of itself, at least for me.

I dearly wish that we could follow the specifics of cases like this. I would like to understand what her punishment for having plead guilty to illegal firearm possession was. You would think that Mayor Bloomy would have been all over this one, since it is what he says that he is against.

Re: More armed and unarmed violence in gun free Chicago

Besides the screaming about injustice that it would generate, I wonder what a dusk to dawn curfew in some of these neighborhoods would do to the murder rate. In most natural disasters, that is a favorite tactic. It should work in this man-made disaster of a city, too.

“The shooting has been going on for days,” said Tolbert, who she was on her way to her security job when she heard about what happened and rushed back to her family. “Why we gotta be prisoners in our homes?”
Simple Answer: Because you elect politicians whose goal is to subjugate you so that they remain in power. One of their goals in that subjugation is to make sure that you cannot defend yourself.

Re: More armed and unarmed violence in gun free Chicago

It is truly a shame for those with principals and values to see the carnage that the liberal freaks have wrought on Chicago. I don't know that I could stand seeing the hopelessness of the situation day after day. My prayers go out to the family of the officer.

The Chicago Democratic machine is the most heinous political organization in the US, bar none. It is unfortunate that no one has found a way to make those responsible pay for the anguish that they have caused and the lives that they have ruined with their corrupt government.

Chicago teen shot and killed hours after her sister stood behind Obama at a speech on violence.

Obviously false because Chicago is gun free.

Maybe it was the tattoo?
McFarlane was shot to death hours after her little sister, Destini, 14, sat just feet away as President Barack Obama as he spoke in Chicago Friday about the violence plaguing the nation.
This kind of reporting gets under my skin. Violence is NOT plaguing our nation. Almost everywhere, violence is less than a few years ago. Most crimes are on the decrease. Where crime is rampant and on the rise is in a few specially designed pockets of political will in the inner cities. The politicians have specifically set them up and administer them to perpetuate their political influence and a side effect is to create a miserable, unhealthy environment for the uninformed people who are unfortunate enough to live there. Chicago is just one of the worst.

The President jetting it to try to spread the blame around is not going to alter the damage that his political cronies have done. It is sad that young innocent girls like this one will continue to loose their lives on the altar of the Mayor's political longevity.

15 year old girl shot dead in Chicago. Nothing new here, except she was an honor student and just got back from performing at Obama's inauguration.

Sad that Chicago's best is dieing to support a failed gun control policy.
And where is the Sandy Hook level outrage? Did this young girls life somehow mean less than the poor kids in the elementary school? No. The difference is that the political narrative is not enhanced by yet another possibly gang related shooting in a city under Democratic and high gun ban control. Nothing to look at here, folks, move along.

The Mayor will simply continue to claim that the gun problem in Chicago isn't the city but is caused by the availability of guns in the surrounding areas. If that were fixed, it would be because of the guns in the surrounding States. The term "Teflon" takes on a whole new meaning. Perhaps the Mayor has infringed on the Plunkett/Dupont patent for that material.

Re: More armed and unarmed violence in gun free Chicago

Everyone in the US should be afraid of what is happening in Chicago. It is the model by which the corrupt politicians who have been in charge of Cooke county would like to run the rest country. High taxes, people living in substandard conditions and the political establishment firmly in control with no hope ever of a ballot box related change.

While the politicians rail at guns, the fact is that many of the murders are done with knives, like the one in this latest story. And the story says "no arrests had been made." What a surprise. It is nothing more than government sponsored anarchy.

I agree with you in principal. In practice, it would take a full scale uprising to unseat the corrupt political machine that has probably run Chicago since the end of prohibition. I suspect that Chicago is about as far removed from the 1 person - 1 vote rule as you can get. FWIW, I suspect that the NY voters have about the same prospects for "regime change."

My college roomate lives in Gureny and I would would love to visit him. I don't see that happening until my chances of getting arrested for having a handgun in my RV go down a lot. It would be just my luck to have a traffic stop about half way across IL.
