Re: Renewal timing

Alright finally got the "Change Address" link, so thinking my plastic is on the way. 6 weeks. I let a message voice mail on Monday so I wonder if that jump started things.

Re: Speeding (?) Ticket then no ticket

Officers are trained to observe movement in cars they are pulling over. I'd be surprised if that officer wasn't aware that y'all had done something inside the car before he pulled you over. His line of questioning might have been quite a bit different had you not been cooperative when he first appr...

Re: Speeding (?) Ticket then no ticket

He said he moved it from his waistband. If the OP's shirt was tucked in and he had no cover garment and that gun was inside the waistband but outside the shirt, then that j-frame was being open-carried, and it would be necessary to either cover it or store it out of sight. There are missing details...

Renewal timing

I understand the renewal process and that there will be no update on the website until card is in the mail, but how long should it take. I am starting to think I missed something on my "checklist" which was blank. It's been a month since I submitted my renewal.

Re: Renewal costs

Well gosh, they could be clearer. But yes, I followed it through and when I went to submit it broke the cost up as an either or, not a both.

Re: Speeding (?) Ticket then no ticket

On my car that pocket is deep enough to fully conceal my revolver, which is why I carry there when I drive. On my wife's car it is barely deep enough for a cell phone, so I don't carry there. As for legal and safe, I'm very confident in both. The photo is just a generic one from the interwebs intend...

Re: Speeding (?) Ticket then no ticket

I use one of the J-Hooks when I am walking around, I usually remove the revolver though and place it in the front seat pocket: http://www.elepent.com/autos/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/DSC07043.jpg however on my wife's car the pocket is not very deep so the butt end sticks up a little bit. So when I a...

Speeding (?) Ticket then no ticket

Late October on a Sunday I was pulled over in my wife's car with the full family (wife, toddler, and angry dog) and my j frame. In my wife's car so as we were pulling over I slipped the gun out of my waist band and handed it to her to put in the glovebox. Tight fit with all her junk in there, otherw...

Renewal costs

I just got online to renew my CHL and get to the end of the nice easy process to see the $70 Texas CHL Renewal fee AND the $73.62 Texas.gov website fee. So can I not just go through DPS directly and save the $73.62? I see there is a form online I can use (CHL-77), but the Texas.gov had a few affidav...

Re: WTB Ruger 10/22 mags

Yeah I checked the link along with just about everyone one out there. Talk about a mad rush, these things are actually rarer than AR mags at this point.

Folks asking 50-75+ on craigslist for them. Nuts.

Re: Taurus 972 .22lr revolver

Yep, just like the 94. Maybe this was a shop gun, like the Academy special Browning .22lr pistol. I bought it thinking I would squirrel hunt with it, but ultimately decided my eyes are not good enough and just put a scope on my S&W 22A. I did kill some cans and steel plates with it. Basically bu...

Taurus 972 .22lr revolver

I've got a Taurus 972 9-shot .22LR revolver that I don't shoot much anymore. Looking to sell with two speed loaders. This is not the larger Taurus Tracker. This is about the size of a j-frame but with a 5" barrel. Very accurate and lots of fun. Face to face - Houston or SA/Fredricksburg (this w...

WTB Ruger 10/22 mags

Man, I picked the wrong time to build up my first 10/22. All the parts were easy to get, except the mags.

I've got a single 10rd mag, but would be interested in some 20+ mags. I had a clear hotlips for a buddies and the thing misfed all day long, so maybe not any of those.

Let me know,

Alright, how about for sale, instead of just for trade?

Make me an offer.

WTT: RCBS 300 Win Mag dies for .308

Just picked up a reloading setup which came with a set of RCBS 300 win mag dies. I shoot .308. I'll open it to trade first.
