Re: WTB: Wilson Combat Handgun
High end 1911s at both Collectors and Jackson are WAY overpriced. But if you want to pay +MSRP and tax they do have some nice stock. For the OP, I don't agree w/ Carrots assessment of Jacksons and consider their prices to be fair; far from being WAY overpriced, but then I don't shop at Vikon Villag...

Re: WTB: Wilson Combat Handgun
Are you only wanting used, or is new ok? Several dealers in Dallas area have new ones in stock. Jackson Armory is IIRC, Wilson's largest dealer; after seeing their selection, I'd believe it. Bullet Trap in Plano and most recently Cheaper than Dirt in McKinney have some as well. ETA: Cabela's in Fort...

Re: Happy Birthday John Moses Browning!!!
While there is some question, I'll go with the 23rd because of a couple of points:
The Browning company website has a “Browning Timeline” that starts off with this…
Jan. 23, 1855; Birth of John Moses Browning in Ogden, Utah.
And then there is this...

Re: Single Stack Glock
Handle one of the new Gen 4 Glock 26s. Picked one up last week and I think its much better than previous generations. Dont think its any thinner but sure feels nicer in the hand. I'd snap up a single stack Glock 9mm in a heartbeat. I didn't think the subcompact Gen 4 Glocks were out yet? Where did ...

Ever tried "M-Pro 7"? It's available at Academy. Very low odor.

Re: New Ruger LC9
A bit disappointing IMO. Upon comparing it to other BUG or Near-BUGs in a spreadsheet, it appears to be pretty much just a thinner, single stack, G26 to my way of looking at it. Had it used polymer to build a pistol the size of a Rohrbaugh but much lighter, then I would be more interested even thoug...

Re: Need help for a friend
baldeagle, Your friend will need business cards for the second and subsequent meetings at Southlake. VistaPrint.com is where most people get theirs. They do discuss this in orientation, but thought I would mention it just in case he wants to get a headstart. Since you said he is on the forum here, I...

Re: Reducing the penalty for committing an offense under 30.
It is quite legal to carry in a liquor store unless they have posted a 30.06 sign. The same with ANY place that sells carry out alcohol Almost. Some, not all, but some winery shops (like in Fredericksburg for example) who do sell for carry out are flagged by the TABC as 51% locations ( sign = red o...

Re: School me on Riflescopes
So, does anyone have a recommendation for a 3-9X scope for hunting use that won't break the bank? Cabella's has a Nikon Pro Staff on sale for $99 that seems to be getting very good reviews. Assuming it's the same as the one I bought at Academy for $150... I'm good w/ it. It doesn't seem to me to be...

Do screeners change gloves between each pat down? Grossness (fluids) from passenger one, get wiped onto passenger two.

Re: Smith & Wesson cleaning products
they're good stuff. I've gotten samples at a couple of NRA meetings and the cleaner/oil is slicker than all get out.
