Re: Happy Birthday PhillRoath!!

Thanks, appreciate that. 76 years in the rear view mirror, beat cancer a few years back, and looking good for a few more. Current political situation better than I expected and life looks great!

Re: Ephiphany - OWB works just fine for concealed carry

I use the IWB Minotaur MTAC Holster for my 1911s. Very comfortable and keeps the grip snug to my body. I either wear a loose shirt over it or a sports jacket. Works great for me and I can use the tuckable feature to conceal if all I have is a tucked in shirt. Of course EMMV (Everyone's Millage May V...

Re: Gun Control

I wouldn’t worry about registration too much. They can pass all the laws they want and if the majority do not obey the laws then all it does is make the lawmakers look like idiots. Case in point “The great Connecticut gun & magazine registration. My question is, would the U.S. government actual...

Re: Texting in theater sparks fatal shooting

On a side note. This right here does not speak well for the .380 as a self defense weapon. This guy got shot in the chest but lived long enough that if he had been armed, would have had plenty of time to take the old cranker with him. Imagine shooting some BG hopped up on drugs. The guy would be al...

Re: Texting in theater sparks fatal shooting

Of course, this is simply not true as "stand your ground" was not used by the defense in that case. The entire article seems to be an attack on concealed carry and mentions John Cornyn's measure for concealed carry in all states. If you're looking for the truth about anything you shouldn'...

Re: Texting in theater sparks fatal shooting

Can't get the Houston Chronicle link to the online version, but today's paper had a front page story about this which links to "stand your ground" laws. Following is one paragraph typed in by hand from the Chronicle's article. The law in the quote refers to stand your ground. The law was t...

Re: 3006 sign postings

I would like to add one thing here. Suppose (i.e. - assume) that one visited a mall one day and saw the correct 3006 posted and reasoned, "OK, I can not carry here." They leave thier EDC in the car and complete their shopping. They leave. Time passes. Several weeks later they return to the...

Re: Is this sign valid

Just curious, but didn't the law just change regarding posting parking lots and employees? I also notice further down it talks about a tobacco free Campus - is this an educational facility?

Re: Just great! Another darned school shooting.

Concealed is concealed. Students in the school should have no better access to firearms carried by a CHL/teacher in the school than they would if that same teacher walked through Wal-Mart today. Perhaps some stories out of the schools were it is permitted today would confirm that it isn't an issue....

Re: Gas stations on Texas3006.com

Hi, new poster here. Wasn't sure where else to ask this. I was trying to add a local (Houston) gas station to the Texas3006.com website, but under sign type there isn't an option for the TABC "unlicensed possession" signs (see link below). Is it just understood that CHL carriers should be...

Re: Mcdonald's Robbery

"........"Abraham"..... :iagree: All of us would be making split second decisions, but this is probably what I would do. I have zero faith in these criminals not killing someone. So your solution is to react in a manor that would insure they kill someone? Heck, you might even kill an...

Re: Mcdonald's Robbery

As for me personally I would have resisted and it would have been over in a few seconds one way or another. I just will never lay down and hand over my life or my families lives freely to an armed gang to do with as they please. Never going to happen. Armed Thugs that prey on weak unarmed members o...
