Re: Had to use my 45. Hope this never happens again.

In the good spirit of keeping this zombie post flowing: Ill admit it had me going right ill the end and regardless of its actual happening it DID sound like a complete nightmare. It solidifies my take on using holsters with belt loops instead of clips to alleviate the possibility of pulling the hols...

Re: Printing

Define "printing", and forget that its a gun for a second. Does it LOOK like a gun? Would joe schmoe off the street instantly think "gun"? Or do you mean that there is sometimes an ambiguious lump on your hip? If its the latter, forget about it. Solid colors help as do patterns. ...

Re: Should I get my CHL??

Unfortunately my dad did everything but send in his paperwork for pretty much the same reason. He seemed to think that if you had your CCW you were more likley to use it or be scrutinized when you did use it. Though, he never seemed to bat an eyelash in keeping a loaded pistol in his vehicle back wh...

Re: Holstered in car

Different seats, body types, holsters, firearms, etc etc all come into play. So as a skinny guy who carries a compact pistol in a Kholster with some front cant, at 3:00, operating all sorts of vehicles sans arm rests ive never felt disadvantaged leaving it right where it is.

Re: ADVICE: 3 Things a New CHL Owner Should Know?

1. Carry the @*&# thing! Im tired of hearing "Oh well, I only carry it when I think ill need it/when im going into a bad place". Sorry, if im expecting a situation where ill have to use my pistol that day ill park my butt at home or change plans. Id also like to ask those people for th...

Re: Engage or not?

Based on what little info is given, I would not engage for several reasons. First and foremost my firearm is for MY protection. Second and equally important is that I want to go home as alive and unscathed as possible each night. Attempting to get the drop on 2 (that we know of) armed suspects puts ...

Re: Liability as a result of 30.06 posting

I think we got a bit sidetracked from the OP. Id say good luck getting anything out of a business that chose to put up a 30.06 sign which MAY HAVE resulted in the injury or death of an innocent person. Im not away of any case law that says an establishment is bound by provide its patrons any type of...

Re: SB 321 employer requesting license?

The third "S"- Shut up. Nobody at your job knows you have a CHL.....do they? Personally I would not comply as in "What CHL?" While they are trying to flex their muscle after getting pimp slapped by the law, they can still enact retarded policies so long as its a private company. ...

If people like Wal-Mart ask you to remove your ID from any holder the PO is likley going to ask you to do so as well.

Re: Riding with a convicted felon

As long as you are in control of the firearm and there is no way he can get possesion (without fighting you for it) then you and he are fine. The only gray area I could think of would be if the felon is still under probation and the terms of the probation prohibit him from being with people who are...

Re: Airsoft for Halloween Costume

Eh, it really is a crap shoot. If I were going out to a club or a huge party where it might be an issue you could opt for an obviously fake airsoft pistol. I wore a "mobster" custume a couple years back to work and carried a look-alike air soft M9 in a shoulder holster with no problems. Th...

Re: Is the verbal communication of having a gun illegal?

Thoughts? Dont. Dont even go there. Ever. Nothing good can possibly come of the situation and it will have the opposite effect. All they have to say is that you flashed your gun at them. Afterall, its your word against his and he now knows your armed. If there are witnesses on the side of your agres...

Re: Open Carry in TX, Unloaded

C&B (cap and ball) revolvers arent often used for mounted shooting. I worked with a gal who used to do that. They use modern firearms which utilize a black powder blank. Use of a black powder cartridge does not negate the fact that its a modern firearm capable of firing modern projectiles. Your ...

Good job Aggiedad. :thumbs2: :tiphat: On the other hand: Why not just walk right by non-compliant signs? Non-compliant signs in no way prohibit chl's from carrying in said establishment... :confused5 :smash: Sometimes, it's just best to let sleeping dogs lie. I tend to take the sleeping dog approac...
