Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?

Hello all, I'm in humble/atascocita (NE Houston) and I have a baofeng handheld with an upgraded antenna. I scan my local repeaters, but have only heard real communications on ham day... Is this normal? I guess I need to tune in on days with scheduled chatter. Taking my tech exam Saturday. Check out...

Re: IN: Woman kills officer's attacker, now getting sued

Though it still may require an attorney if civil case filed, it really makes me thankful for Texas and CPRC 83.001. CIVIL IMMUNITY. A defendant who uses force or deadly force that is justified in Chapter 9, Penal Code, is immune from civil liability for personal injury or death that results from th...

Re: New RD Warren Holster

txhighlander has been a step ahead of me for about a month. He bought the holster for the CZ P01 right before I went to the website so I had to wait, BUT it came today and was well worth the wait. I do not OC (except in my office), but this rig will be hard to keep hid. Mr. Cotton if you want to sa...

Re: Bill of sale?

Touchy subject some places. Legally, I don't believe a BoS is required... however, if I'm selling to an unknown person in a face to face transaction, I'm going to want to see a CHL (LTC) as a personal preference. I'd be ok with a BoS if the buyer requested it. In that case I would print 2 paper copi...

I don't know. Houston is big.

Yeah, but it doesn't go all the way to that river.

I was thinking the same thing. El Houston? Hou-Paso?

Re: Colion Noir Lashes Out At Claims NRA Is Racist

It's too bad this guy has to spend any of his time addressing accusations of racism. He's a very compelling voice.
I'd like to see him be able to focus all of his efforts on expanding gun rights instead of deflecting lies about racism...

Re: NRA National Meeting May 3-6 -- Anybody Worried?

Park free at a TRE or a light rail parking lot. Jump on the light rail and it will take you directly to the convention center. Two questions: Is TRE "safe" for lone older man to travel at all hours to and from Arlington? What's the TRE policy on licensed carry on the train? Regarding your...
