Re: Just ordered my first C&R rifle

I love my M44. Weird looks when shooting with Bayonet extended, 3 foot long fireballs, and a BOOM that shakes the earth. I felt a little bad when the father/son shooting a .22LR next to me packed up and left though. I did offer anyone who was interested to shoot it, all declined.

Re: Best Tactical Movie

The 1972 classic, "The Getaway". Starring Steve McQueen, Ali Mcgraw, and Sally Struthers (yes, Archie Bunker's little Gloria, but playing a much different sort of young "lady"). Using a bone stock High Standard pump action 12 gauge and a pocket full of shells, McQueen shows us h...

Re: Kel-Tec .22WMR PMR-30 - Anyone know much about it?

It is low on my list of purchases, but I would love to get one. If they make one in .22LR it will fly off the shelves!

Re: Carry OWB in Texas?

The problem I have is I'm a 20-something year old. I've never seen anyone in my age group where a camera-type vest. I guess I need to keep a sharper eye out for what others in my age group wear that could offer concealment. i know the feeling, i've still got a few years left before i hit 30 and i a...

Re: New gun owner call for help

He could have done a lot worse than a G23. Glad he realized that he needed some instruction. How'd the shooting go, and how'd he handle the .40? If he can't carry 24/7, I would also recommend a small safe so that the Glock can't be stolen in a smash/grab type of burglary. He also may want to reinfor...

Re: My first reloads

Welcome aboard! Reloading is tons of fun and a hobby all to itself. I have long ago recouped equipment and component costs with some more expensive rounds and just barely beat the cost of factory with my 9mm loads but I have a great time doing it! Oh and my first ever load was a pretty warm 45 colt ...

Re: Free with gun(XDm) paddle holster better than nothing

I have a similar paddle holster and I like it for early morning walks, but for concealment I find it very lacking without some hefty cover garments. It beats sticking it in your pants though and the paddle does a nice job holding everything in place and distributing some of the weight.

Re: Manhattan NY

I 2nd the bag notion, and bring one that can be carried either in front or tucked under your arm. I brought a backpack, and wore it backwards so that it was on my chest. It looked silly, but kept anyone from unzipping the pockets. In order to keep the pickpockets at bay, I kept my stuff in it, and ...

Re: Went OWB Conceal Carry Today

I like both OWB and IWB, they both have a place. My OWB paddle works great for morning/evening walks and a jacket, sweatshirt. My belt slide is great for IDPA and a longer shirt. My IWB gets the nod most of the time if I am going to be in public a whole lot and not wearing a jacket.

Re: Manhattan NY

Being from NY state before I got out of there ASAP to come to Texas and having gone to NYC more than a couple of times here are a couple of other tips. Bag. You will need a man-purse, backpack, messenger bag. You are walking everywhere. Cash. There are little mom and pop places that don't take credi...
