Re: PSC (Pearland Shooting Center). Anyone here a member?
You will certainly enjoy PSC. Teamless was kind enough to take me and my son to PSC about 1.5 years ago... we loved it and joined within a month or so. We just beat the membership "shutdown"! I'll make the same offer as Teamless did for me... if any non-members would like to go for a look-...

I just did a transfer through Jason at Leadslinger and it was a fast, painless experience.

Re: Shortage on ammo at your WalMart?
The Walmart in Kemah seems to always have slim pickings for many calibers... I've almost given up on them for 9mm and 45. Oddly enough though, the Walmart across from The Arms Room seems to always be well stocked with everything, including the WWB 100 count in 9mm for 20.95 and .45 for 31.95.

This Walmart had .308 when I was there on Monday Feb 6th. I have plenty on hand so I did not deplete the inventory!

Re: Plastic in hand!
Congrats on the plastic... it's a great feeling when you unwrap that baby and tuck it in the wallet! I never quite got used to IWB... maybe I just didn't give it enough of a chance.

Re: Worn/gone sight paint?
Thanks for all the suggestions. The project was completed last night with a bit of Testors and a toothpick. Now I'll see how long it lasts through regular use, cleaning, etc.
Thanks again!

Re: If you could buy one pistol....
Imagining doom, gloom and a survival situation where I could only have one pistol... it would likely be a Glock and probably a G19. It'll take more abuse than I can and ammo is readily available and relatively cheap. Barring the doom and gloom scenario, I always reach for my Kimber 1911 because it's...

Re: Going to Big Bend to camp
Agree... I would unhesitatingly go to BBNP and go or hike anywhere on the US side. I personally would avoid the river right now although I have been down and across it many times. I would not go down the river if I could not carry and that's just a bad combination and a real problem waiting to happe...

Re: got my plastic today!...now what to carry?...
When I first got my plastic, I ordered a Crossbreed Supertuck and Crossbreed belt to carry my G19. Well, I love the belt but just don't seem to like IWB regardless of the brand/style. It's amazing what a difference a REAL belt makes in supporting the weight of a holster, gun and mags.

Worn/gone sight paint?
I just bought a used Kahr and it has "dot the I" sights on it and the white paint is completely gone on both the front and rear sights. Any suggestions on the best method to renew the paint?

Re: WTB - Kahr PM9 (HOU area)
Thanks for the clarification between the CM9 and the PM9. In my earlier post, I meant to say "CM9" not CW9. What would be the advantages/disadvantages of the different rifling and machining? Doesn't seem like the difference was enough for you to spend the extra $ if you had it to do over a...

What's the real difference, other than price, between the CW9 and the PM9?

WTB - Kahr PM9 (HOU area)
I've decided I need to move up from my pocket .380 to a 9mm and have pretty much decided on the Kahr PM9. If you have or know of one for sale, please PM and let me know.
Thanks - Russ

A place near Houston for plinking?
Does it exist? I'm looking for a safe place near Houston (preferably east, southeast or south) that I can take my son out to just do some plinking with a .22 rifle. I'd like to just set up some cans, balloons, targets, etc., and have fun without the rigor of the range. When I was a kid, my family ha...

Re: Best all around scope for AR?
The gun is a 5.56 with 16 inch barrel, mid-length gas. As I mentioned, I'm new to the AR and rifles in general (anything past a .22). I would like to do some target shooting as well as some hunting with it. I like the platform and love the ability to customize in so many different ways. I envision c...
