Harrold School about 25 miles west of me was the first school in Texas to arm teachers and staff in 2007. I have talked to the principal on occasion and things have gone well , select teachers and staff take special training , no teacher is forced to carry . I graduated from Harrold and still live near by. The decision to allow teachers and staff was decided on by the school board and the superintendant. Those allowed to carry are required to have a a certain amount of training and carry ammunition is restricted to certain types. <SNIP>

To my knowledge only the Harrold, Texas ISD (near the Red River in N. Texas)
has authorized their staff to carry within the school buildings.

... drills. I'm pushing for a lockdown drill. But, I'm also want to push something more realistic. It's one thing to drill, but it's another thing when we hear shots fired or see a firearm. Students and staff WILL panic, and that's what I'm worried about. No one really panics in a fire or tornado drill.

The ISSUE here IS allowing teachers, and staff with CHL's to DEFEND THE LIVES OF CHILDREN entrusted to their care.
